The Commission has posted their agenda for Wednesday, November 2. http://www.mtlebanon.org/archives/30/Supplemental%20Agenda%2011-2-11.pdf The second item of business on the agenda after Citizen Comments is clarification on Resolution Number R-16-11 a.k.a. the rec bond. Here we go again.

  1. After "reading" the resolution some questions and a thought.
Page 1. "#2. The primary purpose of such funds shall be improvement of the 1:) Municipal Pool Facility and 2) Municipal Fields which may include work on McNeilly Park.

OK, tell me where is McNeilly Park? That vacant parcel of land on McNeilly is now officially a park? Geez, did I miss the ribbon cutting? Furthermore was is it listed before Main and Bird?

Page 3 under User Cost Offsets- 2. #3) Before accepting any field improvement bid the Municipality [SHOULD] receive a capital donation from Youth Sports of $100,000.
That strikes me as being rather vague! If the intent is for Youth Sports to pony up $100,000 shouldn't it say something like "MUST"? I can see it now Youth Soports could only find $5,000, good enough we'll proceed anyway!
Does Youth Sports hold a monopoly on park development here abouts? What if Elaine's skateboarding friends came up with $10,000 for a skateboarding facility, could they steer development of McNeilly?
And how about approching Dormont and Baldwin to share in the parks development. Hell, their kids will get as much use out of it as ours unless we're going to issue passes to use it!
    Just some questions and thoughts.
    They call me... Grumpy!

  3. Grumpy:
I'll see your "Park" and raise you a "Complex." Google Maps has that property marked "Mt Lebanon-Baldwin Twp. Athletics Complex."

  4. Ah the first step in a joint venture. LOL, thanks Richard.

Elaine, If being grumpy about wasted taxpayer money like branches of local government suing each other or the school district tearing up perfectly good recreation facilities such as the Horsman ballfield and tennis courts, while listening to Mr. Franklin whine we need more... then by all means call me Grumpy!!!

  5. I have learned from the conversation and the documents that the Superintendent, the Manager, Mr. Dalesandro and Mr. Foor signed a Joint Maintenance Agreement in July 2010 that does not cover the cost of maintaining our existing fields.

Where was the performance evaluation of these individuals by the Board and Commission on this issue?
