I just received this comment. http://reason.org/blog/show/harrisburg-pa-declares-bankruptcy. Harrisburg isn't the only place in trouble; there is a list of towns and counties that have horrible credit ratings. What is really interesting is to read the full analysis (the link at the bottom of the page) and note that many of these places had pension hikes that kicked in, or infrastructure projects, or unwise building projects, that contributed to their downfall.
I wonder if we're going to be told that we will be required, under some obscure, ancient PA law, to help bail out Harrisburg with a local tax...no, make it a fee...surcharge ?
The deceptive athletic supporters and the Municipality could look in the Yellow Pages to find a new athletic field instead of taxing our homes, businesses and churches with a FEE that sucks up $1,443,000 each year.
I heard that the city has declared bankruptcy with more cities coming. Hey, still a grrreat time to spend $113 million plus!!

Central Falls, RI, declared bankruptcy in August due largely to its bloated pension plan. Will PA school districts be next? Bill Hook
