Dear Mt. Lebanon Parents and Students,
On behalf of the Mt. Lebanon Board of School Directors, I would like to extend an invitation for you to attend the Mt. Lebanon School District groundbreaking ceremony for the High School Renovation Project. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. on the lawn next to the Fine Arts Theatre. An invitation is attached. I hope you will join us for refreshments following the ceremony in the upper lobby of the Fine Arts Theatre.
This is a historic moment for the Mt. Lebanon School District and community, and represents the culmination of many years of planning and perseverance. It is now time to celebrate!
I look forward to seeing you at the groundbreaking.
Sincerely,
Timothy Steinhauer, Ed. D.
But who is going to pass the hat?
ReplyDeleteFine Arts Theatre Upper Lobby hold just a few people
ReplyDeleteNo one will pass the hat because the school board and officials have their collective hands in our pockets.
ReplyDeleteIt is absolutely astounding to me that these people cannot see what they're doing will be a calamity.
They see, and know, what they are doing and don't give a damn.
ReplyDeleteDo we have to park at Dixon or Washington?
ReplyDeleteI don't know how anyone in this community can "celebrate" its 100th birthday knowing that its destruction---both as a school district and then as a community---is imminent.
ReplyDeleteSchool board members and officials should end up with blood on their hands rather than the building plaque they seem to covet.
....with "blood on their hands"....really???? " A calamity" really??? The school board was elected by the folks who believe that the construction must be done now.
ReplyDeleteWhere will the 10 or so folks who contribute to the blog be 5 years from now? Living in that utopian suburb of Pittsburgh where everyone agrees with them and nothing gets done?
Anonymous 12:03 AM, it's no secret what happens when taxes become too high to support the local economy. Housing prices go down, more renters move in, crime increases and everything goes to hell.
ReplyDeleteTake your head out of the sand and look around. You don't have to be a genius to figure it out.
Anon 12:03. Of course you'll be living in that community with the less than $95 million HS that is only costing you $18 more a month, right?
ReplyDeleteWhere is that exactly?
In the last 24 hours commenters on this site have used words like "raping", "blood", "plague" to describe the SB and the high school project. I'm now being told that Lebo will soon be the ghetto. I think everyone (EVERYONE) needs to take a step back and look for a little perspective.
ReplyDeleteFrom my perspective, things look bleak.
ReplyDeleteThe word "ghetto" means community. We don't have that here. Oh! I forgot, it might also apply to the shabby Section 8 housing on Shady Drive East.
