Someone is lying. UPDATED

A little history...June 7, I posted this thread, NSF YSA Makes The Trib!
Then-school Superintendent John Allison dismissed the amount owed in 2008 because of the group's insufficient funds;
June 20, 2012, this appeared on Lebo Citizens. Another hole in Jan's story - Updated 2x - 990's added - Trib's correction This sums up the thread:

For the record, I never did see the statements from Jan Klein that Chip Dalesandro was referring to in the post, I had a visitor today...  How could George Wilson dismiss the amount owed when he wasn't even the superintendent? Who dismissed it? The School Board at that time? Or was it Jan Klein?

On June 20, 2012, I filed two Right To Know requests with the School District. I heard from Mrs. Szalinski on June 26 with this response and this response, both requiring extensions up to thirty days.

That brings us up to today. I heard from Mrs. Szalinski by email. Dr. Tim Steinhauer, Thomas Peterson, and Gavin Robb were cc'ed. Peterson and Robb are with Tucker Arensberg. I don't understand why two attorneys would have been involved. Double legal fees?

Here are the responses.

On June 20, 2012, you requested any and all communication regarding the dismissal/forgiveness/release/waiver of funds owed by the Youth Sports Alliance for the years 1998-present by any superintendent, financial director, school board director, or YSA member. Please be advised that the District is not in possession of any records responsive to your request. Official response

On June 20, 2012, you requested any and all communication between Jan Klein and Chip Dalesandro regarding the YSA payment schedule and funds received. Please be advised that the District is not in possession of any records responsive to your request. Official response

So no records of ANYONE dismissing YSA fees in 2008 or ANYTIME. No copies of records that Chip has in his possession from Jan Klein accounting for all of YSA's payments. Where are the records? If there is nothing, why were two attorneys involved? Why the extensions?

  1. So the YSA said they made all payments, except that Chip dropped by and said they were actually forgiven for some of the payments.

Following the trail to Ms. Klein leads to her saying that Wilson forgave the debt. Except Wilson wasn't there. Of course, John Allison may have been there but according to SB members, there was nary a word of forgiveness of YSA debt during his tenure. Dr. Tim of course wasn't the Super back then.

Is this ANOTHER case of Ms. Klein telling a lie? We've seen it before folks.

Gosh, I hate how this sounds even as I am writing this because I know detractors of this blog will just say I am another one of those hateful bloggers. But when will some of you detractors come to the realization that something stinks here?

It's not so much about the missing $30,000 but the way it is covered up and lied about. $30k doesn't have any impact on our millage really so no big deal on that sum. But why not just tell the truth about this? So and so forgave the debt and here is the paper showing that.

My guess is that there is no paper trail because it was a gentleman's agreement.

With the YSA agreement due up, one would think this missing payment and the ability of the YSA to keep contributing to the agreement should be brought into question. Nobody likes a partner that reneges on a $30,000 promise.

  2. Not completely accurate. Chip dropped by to say that everything was paid up and that he had the paperwork at home from Jan Klein. He said that he was sure Jam Klein would give it to me if I asked her for it. Maybe I should have just asked her directly as Chip suggested, instead of filing a RTK. I sure hope it isn't because I called him "Chip" instead of his name on his birth certificate.

  3. *Jan Klein. not Jam Klein. Sorry.

  4. RTKs be damned. The YSA can't produce cancelled checks or even bank statements showing the payments.
They'll let this matter fester... for what?

And this is a group that we're expected to follow on an expenditure of $1.3 for artificial turf. Then we're expected to believe that they'll follow up on any payments.

These YSA people won't even come to the aid of their board buddies.

  5. Amazingly though the district 'CAN' manage to find a way to keep track of each and every tax payment made on every property in MTL and they'll be all to happy to publish a list of the liened properties for your reading enjoyment.

  6. Why won't anyone with authority get involved? Residents are being lied to and are paying for things that they shouldn't be. Where is the representation by our elected officials all way to Harrisburg? What does it take to cut the BS???

  7. Anonymous 11:29...it takes people like you to shed all this anonymous whiny BS, and to step forward en mass as identifiable taxpaying residents in public meetings, letters, e-mails, telephone calls, blog postings, etc. and express and strongly defend your opinions, present your evidence.

Give up hiding behind the *silent majority* screen and the stale excuses that you're "too busy" or "afraid of intimidation". Either put up or shut up !

    Bill Lewis

  8. Yep, you can bet I'll be kicking Matt "I’m working hard in our state Capitol and at home to make government work for you and our community" Smith up to the state senate.

More BS from a "I'll hide under the covers and hope it goes away" politician.

Pippy's gone and Smith isn't going to do a thing to upset the teacher's union while he's looking to move into the senate so that leaves us with no checks or balances from Harrisburg.

Start loosening up your writing hand because after November we're all going to be writing some very big checks.

  9. All of you wetting your pants over electing Matt Smith better think about it. He has refused to get involved in any of this even though he could and should. In fact, with the corruption going on with the school board, smith has a legal obligation to step in. But he's been hiding under his bed and getting involved in serious matters like texting while driving (a law which is a total joke).
Oh, and keep in mind Smith is buddies with most of the school board. He wont rock the boat. In fact, he'll continue to look the other way. It's weak and it's digusting. And lest you think I'm a shill, I'm not lobbying for Raja either. He's as equally unqualified to hold office.
Want to root out the problem with corrupt local officials? Get rid of Smith. Then get rid of the school board. but wake up, people. You're being taken for a ride from all sides.

  10. Put up to whom Mr. Lewis?
Matt Smith? The Dept. Of Education?
    The local political parties?
The democrats put Posti, Lebovitz, Brumfield and Linfante in power and the republicans, they're so clueless they haven't figured out D Raja isn't their party chair according to the website.

So just whom do we complain to Mr. Lewis?

I know the editor of MTL magazine. They'll write a stinging expose that'll get things moving.

    ReplyDelete
  11. And now we know why we have less than 29% voter turn out!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I know I'll complain to my sitting Republican representatives,
D Raja, Joe D and Sue Rose!

Now there's a group that's on top of all things Lebo! You can bet they're going to straighten things out, Mr Lewis.

  13. Joe D and Sue Rose are history. For the record, I will be supporting Matt Smith. I would take him over Raja anytime. Raja was head of the Mt. Lebanon Republican Committee and made a mess of it. He sure screwed me up when I was running against Joe D.
I have gone to Matt Smith's office and had a productive visit. I won't go into details, but he is getting my vote.

  14. That's fine Elaine, but did he explain should he win his senate race, what happens to his representative seat?

If he's looking out for us and has our interest at heart why isn't he opening up the spot for us to vote our preference for representative?

He's covering his a** of course which is in his best interest, not ours.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yes Elaine, all 3, Raja, Joe and Sue are history as we all know.
But not according to the local republican committee which still list them on it's site as our sitting representatives.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Suggest you start another topic Elaine as this one, the upcoming election needs a lot of discussion and is interfering with the YSA missing payments issue here.

Why, because if Smith wins the senate seat his rep position will be vacant. That will require a special election probably held in May.
So with Pippy resigning this month and Smith possibly resigning his seat after November our area will not have had equal representation in Harrisburg for almost a year possibly.

  17. Both the republican and democratic parties espouse high ideals, here's an example from the MTLDC, the republican principals make similar claims:
"Welcome to the Mt Lebanon Democratic Committee (MTLDC) online!   The MTLDC is a volunteer organization consisting of committed Mt. Lebanon Democrats who are determined to elect local, state and national candidates who promote the basic principles of the Democratic Party:

Be GREEN by pursuing the efficiencies and benefits of being a green community
Be STRONG by respecting a diversity of views, opinions, and talents
Be SAFE by requiring properly supported public safety services
Be WISE by ensuring fiscal responsibility
Be VIGILANT by holding leaders accountable for their actions
Be SMART by supporting excellence in our schools and libraries"

So if the democrats are VIGILANT would they mind telling us how they hold leaders accountable for their actions? Elaine, has exposed and outlined some suspect and shady accounting. Is the party going to be VIGILANT or not?

Same BS as the republican committee, I suspect.

  18. An oath, a pledge, an agreement, a handshake used to mean something. You could judge a man on whether he honored his commitments and whether he was true to his word.

We threw those character traits out in Lebo years ago. It's drink at your kids ball game, skip on parking fines, don't pay your tax bills. And we have the gall to mock other communities.

You know when try to claim areas here are blighted for tif financing. They're right, there's a moral blight consuming the whole community.

    ReplyDelete
  19. So what is the next step? Nothing ever adds up. How many stories are we going to get from the YSA and Jan Klein? There is no information available, no matter how specific or general the RTKs are written. We can't get straight answers, just lies.
    Elaine
