The PG and Trib endorsed Sue Means. PG said Harris wasn't informed or qualified. Trib said that Republicans made a mistake when they picked Harris over Means to replace Gastgeb and the voter has the chance to right that wrong. Maybe if the three Republicans currently on council, led by Heidlebaugh, had not held the vetting and vote in secret, breaking the Sunshine Laws, we could have gotten the right selection.
On top of above, Cold Sparks is working for both the Wagner campaign and the Peduto campaign. That means Krista, et al is taking money from Democrats which should also disqualify her. Should Cold Sparks continue to work for the winner, then Krista and her husband will have to resign from the Mr. Lebanon Republican Committee...
Update May 24, 2013 8:10 PM
"Laurel: To Sue Means. Fifth District Allegheny County voters rejected spoils-system politics when they elected the Bethel Park Republican to serve out the remaining term of departed County Councilman Vince Gastgeb. She defeated Republican Krista Harris, appointed to the seat on an interim basis as a reward for a relative's work on another pol's campaign. Here's to voters who rejected such a machination."
Is "Cold Sparks" the name of the political campaign consulting & management firm owned and operated by Krista Harris and her husband Mark Harris, you know, the one that mismanaged 2 of Raja's ill fated election misadventures ?
ReplyDeleteKrista is also Vice Chair of the Lebo R Committee (RCML) and a favorite of ol' war horse Jim Roddy. How grand.
Might explain why my grand party keeps getting its grand ass handed to it in elections. We have a bunch of losers running the party. So Harris is taking money with one hand from Dems and takin money from Rs with the other yet claiming she's a "conservative"?
ReplyDeleteThere's really nothing that unusual with polical consultants working for either party, which tells you a lot about how much the mailers and radio spots tell you about a candidate.
ReplyDeleteMost campaign literature is basically generic pablum, better schools, lower taxes, I'm going to work for you.
But people believe it, with out asking how one candidate's pablum is better than the other candidate's.
That's why H. l. Mencken was right when he said: "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public."
ReplyDeleteNo, nothing unusual about consultants working both sides of the fence. It's the whorish nature of our political system. But there is something unusual about someone running for office while hooking on both sides of the street. That, my friend, is disgusting. Yet mindless sheep will vote in favor of such behavior. It's sad.
ReplyDeleteThat's why Sue Means should win. Otherwise, this corruption will just continue on and on. Send a message, go to the polls for Pete's sake and vote for Means!
