A 4% raise but couldn't request more construction money

A Lebo Citizens reader sent me a link to a letter sent to Representative Turzai asking for PlanCon reimbursement. https://www.psba.org/issues-advocacy/issues-research/state-budget/2013/Part_G_Letter-04152013.pdf  The letter was sponsored by Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA),  Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO), and Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators (PASA).

Looking through the fifteen page document, you will see Mt. Lebanon represented by Janice Klein, Josephine Posti, Elaine Cappucci, and Mary Birks.  I thought all the school board directors stand united. Where are the men? Where are Dan Remely, Ed Kubit, Scott Goldman, Bill Cooper, and Larry Lebowitz? Where is Timmy?

I guess that is why we have Alyssa Deluca now. Maybe she will knock on Representative Turzai's door.

  1. Neither Posti nor Cappucci appointed a finance Committee to help the Board understand contract and/or monetary issues in our district.

    Both were responsible for accumulating:
    $8,500,000 in reserves,

    $28,800,000 in excess construction costs,

$10,600,000 in excess interest and principle costs on two bond issues.

$2,000,000 and climbing in cost overruns.

That totals over $48,000,000 in excess costs and reserve buildup in the Mount Lebanon School District and now Posti and Pooch are whining to a State representative to pay them approximately an 8% reimbursement on the first bond float and about a 9% reimbursement on the second bond float.

All this while retaining an AA! credit rating on our bonds.

Now these women are whining to a State representative that we need State money to make up for mistakes they voted for and took no action to correct.

Congratulations go to Ms. Klein, Dr. Steinhauer, and the Men on the Board for not further embarrassing our District by signing this letter.

  3. I found Ms. Klein this time on Page 8. She should know better. Ms. DeLuca don't mention this.

  4. Send all this info to Turzai. He's reasonable and will listen.

  5. If you know Rep. Turzai, 10:51, you should sent the information so he knows the person it is coming from.
