No Quorum at Turf Board Meeting UPDATED

The guy who works on word puzzles at the Turf Board meetings recorded last night's meeting for me. I have uploaded it on lebocitizens.com.  Since there were not enough voting members for a quorum,  there was only a discussion.

Since there was no roll call, it was hard to determine who was there. I heard David Donnellan, David Franklin, John Bendel and David Brumfield's voices. There was quite a discussion about signage. David Donnellan explained why there was only one sign sold.  David Brumfield noted that the Commission could amend the ordinance, and it shouldn't be a problem. Yet another amended ordinance.

Brafferton Field bids were discussed. Bids will be opened on September 17. Hopefully, no lawsuits will result.

John Bendel discussed turfing Middle and Wildcat Fields. He believes that the majority of the commission would be in favor of allocating $400,00 to $475,000 from the unassigned funds for turf. The Commission has asked the engineer to look at Mellon turfing. Dave Brumfield was hoping that the SAB could help raise funds for this project. Dave Brumfield is pushing for Mellon which would be a plus for the business district. School Board Director Ed Kubit was not present. This was after the discussion of how one sign was sold.

  1. Brumfield's track record is abysmal. Little support for his SAB. Little support for his dog program. One sign sold for his sign ordinance. Pitiful.

  2. Didn't know Bendel was that clueless, too. They're just not going to let go of this silliness.

Can someone please ask the commission candiates to immediately articulate their position on crap like field turf and spending money that doesn't belong to the town? I get these nice glossy mailers that say nothing.

  3. How in the world does Bendel figure there is $400,000 to $475,000 in unassigned funds to put into turf.
The damn pool project came in $900,000+ OVER its projected cost.
Bendel, you fools just blew through the unassigned funds like they were... well... water! Yeah I know theirs a bond for the pool and the unassigned funds weren't part of it. Then starting paying the pool off early, before you buy more shit we can't afford, Mr. Bendel!
Or by the way Commissioner, there's the matter of the bid lawsuit which I'm sure there were assigned funds earmarked for!

  4. The recordings are pretty tougj to follow.
Can anyone pride a synopsis of Donnelan's explanation of the pathetic sign selling effort.
I'm sure this is going to be good.
How about one sentence... We're clueless and nobody knows what the _ _ _ _ they're doing.

Ah yes good old Mr. Franklin. I'm sure PK and Ms. Deluca are going to appreciate the SAB encroaching on their fundraising turf!

  5. Sign selling - awe yes, another fundraising scheme to feed the opulent desires of the Mt. Lebo community. Next we'll have kettle ringers out in front of local businesses, except it will be hard to know whether to drop money into the school kettle or turf kettle!

  6. Mr. Franklin Esquire will be walking Washington Road in a Santa Claus suit with a bell in one hand and a kettle in the other.

  7. perhaps they should listen to Mr. Franklin and go to all the meetings...so, if things are so settled without a meeting, why should the public support the show?

  8. 10cces 59Now, too much clatter here, Mr. Bendel is a government-sponsored23 realtNe banker---we should learn from him (and all those federal financial operators that went over the cliff like lemmings) ... Did anyone say "stewardship?"

  9. Mme. Moderator: perhaps people, it wasn't so much the sign selling concept as the sign sellers' competence that was in issue.....

  10. why don't we have a first come, first serve process so that the first one to attend the meeting is the chair of the day, and the commission, board, or committee rosters are completed by whomever may show up, until there are no more chairs! that seems democratic to me!

  11. If there was no quorum, then why did the meeting proceed?

  12. All you see how stupid Dave B. is BUT why is no one running against him? He talked up a storm about how Mt Lebanon High School needed an indoor football/soccer/lacrosse facility and an indoor swimming pool many years ago. He's nothing more than a failed junior lawyer that is eyeing a State Senate Seat. Maybe his wife will answer AGAIN for him?

  13. 7:29 PM. I don't think he is eyeing the State Senate. He wants to be a judge.

  14. No Elaine... Being a judge is out as he can't even raise above a junior in the office. He's a joke! When you're not offered to be a Partner after all those years it speaks volumes. Maybe Mt Lebanon High School can hire him as a Head Coach for lacrosse. Then again with his record maybe it might be more like Assistant to the Assistant Coach.
