A sad day for the PIO

Did you all get the new Mt. Lebanon magazine, Mt. Lebanon Neighbors?

Fake Lebo writes, "Look at what came in the mail today. Yet another magazine (3 now) to tell us how great we are. Lebo, Lebo, Lebo!"

I don't agree. This magazine is much friendlier than the "official community magazine." Mt. Lebanon Neighbors will be a monthly publication, at no cost to Mt. Lebanon residents. I did not get an elitist vibe when I read it. I am sure that it is being dissed in the Public Information Office, but I found it to be a breath of fresh air.

Good luck, Mt. Lebanon Neighbors!

  2. I get the sense that mtl lebomag is anti-men. That is the vibe I get Elaine.

  3. Yep, no cost to MTL taxpayers.
    • no employer SS payments
    • no employer unemployment pymts
    • no employer healthcare expense
    • no pension obligations
    • no municipal supplied office space
    • no muni provided free utilities
    • no muni mileage reimbursement
and last but certainly not least...
    • no muni control of editorial content - hopefully!!

I'm with you 1:25, why do we need mtl magazine.

Wish the publishers much success. Keep it honest, do some real reporting, be fair and you should do well.

  4. Don't take it personally, 1:28 PM. I get the vibe that mtl magazine is anti anyone who is overweight, non-English speaking, Presbyterian, poor, or a St. Clair resident.

  5. Based on the articles and editorial bent of mtl magazine and lebomag.com they should change their title to ME magazine.

  6. I think I need to clarify something in my 1:39 PM comment. mtl Magazine would not be anti- St. Clair resident. They would be anti- UPPER St. Clair resident. St. Clair would be a plus.

  7. That new magazine just seemed like a big advertising vehicle. Lovely article. But the woman was just promoting her life coaching business. Did she pay to be on the cover/featured in it? I'm sorry. But it's just more junk I didn't ask for going straight from my mailbox and into my recycling bin.

  8. 4:42, I had to read your post several times because I thought you were referring to mtl magazine- a big advertising vehicle, full of self-promotion.

  9. The difference is that we are not paying benefits and salaries for this magazine, 4:42 PM. It was their first issue. They had to start with something.

  10. 4:42, you perceive this magazine as nothing more than an advertising and self-promotion.
From a marketing stand point why would anyone or any business limit their audience (editors?) to Mt. Lebanon?
Won't they serve or sell to Dormont, Bethel, USC or Scott people?
I'd recommend dropping Mt. Lebanon from the title, but hey its not my magazine.

  11. There is a USC Neighbors magazine. They do different ones for each town.
