School board April 14 meeting changed

Another change on the MTLSD website with no announcements, buried in the website. Mistakes in millage amounts and now meeting changes. Another fine service of our well paid Director of Communications.

  1. I suppose it is appropriate that they chose Tax Day-April 15th, to adopt the final budget.

I look at paying federal, state, local taxes and getting shock by the new school district tax rate as kind of like pulling off a band-aid.
You can tug at it slowly and bear some slight pain over a long period or yank it off in one quick swoop.

  2. Band-aid? Nope - hemorrhoids!

  3. perhaps the taxpayers should file a bankruptcy petition against the school district which obviously cannot pay its obligations based on profligacy, mismanagement, and waste.....perhaps a trustee in possession would do a better job of management

  4. The first budget numbers used to come out in January or early February. Now we get a look at the early budget the board has to cut in late March.

Now this slap in the face to taxpayers, "the proposed final budget will be available to the public at the administration offices . . . at least 20 days before official Board action on the final budget."

Go to the office to see the budget . . . yea right!

If this is really a legitimate budget why is the Board hiding the facts? Remember last year and this year no documents were mailed to the public for review.

I guess it is OK for the public to see the numbers as long as they don't disagree with Pooch. Tim, and Jan. The mob in the district is afraid to tell the public the truth.

Remember Pooch to;d us, "Everything is on the website." Mention that to her the next time you see her at the grocery store.
