I will see to it that his ward is informed of his extreme shortcomings, both professionally and personally. He'd be wise to reconsider and slink into the shadows.
In what universe does this guy see himself as a plus for the community?
1. We have the failed rehab of Brafferton Field. On top of that little fiasco the rest of our fields... basically suck. 2. We still have that albatross - McNeilly Park - still hanging around our necks with no plan in sight. 3. The pool renovation went wildly over budget, apparently is still a toilet and lacking in amenities like snack bar tables. 4. Robb Hollow is still an eyesore. 5. Still no accounting of field sign revenue 6. He wants to spend an extra $340,000 to preserve bricks on a street most people don't even know whefe it is 7. Never recouped unpaid parking fines 8. and the biggie... it looks like his "crown jewel" turfed field if ever given the green light is going to go way over cost estimates. Yep, an impressive resume, to bad the sleeping elephant will let him waltz right back into office.
Bendel has his sights set on a higher public office in PA eventually - I would recommend him for the multi community animal control officer as a stepping stone to the guy in charge of sanitary sewers in Harrisburg in 2020. These are appointed positions because no one in their right minds would vote for him.
Ask his neighbors if Miller and Smith are constant visitors to his house? But he's going to have a few bumps in his re-election bid. Oh those d@mn hackers get into "other people's" business. The School Board's slight of hand reversal of No Tuition Students last year wasn't as innocent as stated. It was very much researched plan! Bend OVER SHUT UP and pay your taxes!
Don't forget that John Bendel ran unopposed in his first election. His opponent had dropped out of the race over some legal issues. That was when I received my first anonymous letter in the mail and I posted the info here. I got a lot of crap for doing that and it turned out to be true.
Republicans, lean in close to the computer because I am going to whisper this:
Republicans have a shot at winning in Ward 1, if you vet your candidate this time. Shhh.
Libertarians, here is a little secret for you. Shhh. You have a shot at beating Bendel too. Don't tell anyone. Elaine
Yikes, I guess he is not taking my suggestion. Well, I didn't ask him to not run, I guess, just to resign.
You forgot to list in his accomplishments being one of the main proponents of The Newcomer's Tax... and whispering in Kristen's ear a lot at meetings, usually to condescendingly mock citizens during Comments.
This is my Ward. I will say this now... if the RIGHT "R" ran, I would try and help them get elected. Certainly the right "L"... or the right alternative "D" ...
Bendel is most certainly out of touch with what is a "need" and, further, what the new Mt. Lebanon will need to do (and give up) to sustain a good quality of life for people of a variety of economic situations. Saying no to special interests will be at the top of that list. And being more careful with the people's money.
Speaking of supporting "R"s, I'm kind of digging Rand Paul these days... Is there a version of him in Ward 1?
Once again— "Are you paying more for Mt. Lebanon Living and Enjoying It Less?"
If your answer is no, then by all means re-elect this guy. But, if your angered • paying $8 month stormwater "fees" for flooded streets and neighbors basements and that stifle private development • future PAYT garbage collection with no reduction in municupal taxes • shoddy garbage collection • overbudget pool renovations • unimproved sports fields • a propaganda PIO rag • increased parking rates (while some special people can ignore their tickets) • secret meetings • weed infested and crumbling curbs (are there any in Virginia Manor) • Newcomer Tax penalties... then organize to keep this guy from returning to office. Staying quiet and at home will only reap you more of the same! •
In 2009, "angry and mystified," Parks Board and SAB member wrote this in a letter to Bloglebo on the subject of street paving: "Unfortunately, in times like these, our budget is stretched so thin that they came up with what they thought to be the only viable solution - a 20 year wrapped bond that essentially turns this $2 million expense into a $3.7 million long term elephant." http://bloglebo.blogspot.com/2009/06/guest-blogger-dave-franklin-is-angry.html?m=1
So what does the "old woman that lives in a shoe with so many young sports children" do in 2014... push, and push extremely hard, for spending undesignated tax dollars to buy $1.5 million and growing of artificial turf!
Do you want to bet whom this "community advisor" will support for Ward 1 commissioner? Maybe we need to ask Franklin and Bendel what they intend to do with that $2 million long-term elephant hiding In McNeilly Park!!!
Apparently our "reputable" PIO doesn't see a need to notify residents of an opportunity to participate in matters of MTL importance -- that they can't control.
11:06 AM, sadly, our PIO is staff liaison to the Historic Preservation Board, while commission liaison is none other than John Bendel. This is the same group who wouldn't get involved with the historical aspect of our fields down on Cedar Blvd. The DEP expects them to contact the PA Historical and Museum Commission. Yeah, right. Elaine
10:45 am: I'm having trouble getting to the link regarding the motive from the DOI regarding ML. Would you be so kind and give more info, so I can read this?
I heard his campaign signs are going to say:
