Linfante called me a lesbian

I really didn't want to post these emails, since Kristen thrives on this kind of attention, but I have been advised to publish them on my blog. In my first response, I copied the commission, the manager, the solicitor, and two members of the Democratic Committee of Mt. Lebanon.

First the obsession with my FB photo, then the posters tonight! What next!  It's getting a little embarrassing.  Obsession is not too strong a word.  Surely there must be better hobbies out there.  I'm not that special.

Kristen Linfante

Dear Ms Gillen,

I feel compelled to remark on the immense amount of attention
that you devote to me. Wow - posters and everything! It really seems quite
obsessive. More than a few people have suggested to me that your incredible
obsession over me is perhaps fueled not by hate but by love. I felt I should
probably break the news to you myself. You're not my type.

Best wishes to
you,
Kristen Linfante

  1. Since Mt. Lebanon makes me feel like I am living in a continual Seinfeld episode, I must comment:

NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT!

... but really, did an elected official REALLY say that to one of their citizens? And unprompted? And in an email???

What a complete lack of judgment, which is only surpassed by the lack of judgment on a series of Commissioner votes: Newcomer's Tax; Toxic Turf; Deer Cull.

  2. I think it's strange that you'd regard being gay as an insult. Seems bigoted.

Nevertheless, this is more proof that the positions you make on this blog are born from rivalry, not rationality. You two deserve each other. Congrats on making this into even more of a petty circus; looking forward to you talking it on the road (to Scott township tonight).

  4. A council member writes an email to a constituent like that! I find that horrible and so unprofessional!
No Democratic candidate from Ward 3 is getting my vote.

  7. 11:23 - Kristen was trying to hint Elaine was a lesbian thinking it would be an insult. I can't believe she would stoop so low - talk about bigoted and rude. There's nothing wrong with being gay - the fact that Kristen was trying to get under Elaine's skin by throwing that around is disgusting. A new low for Mt Lebanon.

  8. Seriously? An elected official representing our community took time to write this in an email that she knew would most likely be published?
I am so confused as to why Linfante finds it important to write to you about her sexuality, but at last nights meeting several people that spoke about the issues dividing our community asked why she didn't email them back after many attempts to get in touch with her. She hemmed and hawed each time. What are her priorities and who voted for her?

They way she sat up there, either stone faced or smirking while people spoke from their hearts made it obvious that her own heart is as frozen as can be. If someone could please give me reason to feel differently, I'd would love to hear it.

  9. I think this is sad and wrong but the focus should stay on how our municipality intended to permit guns close to schools to kill deer in a cruel, unusual, untested method. The commissioners responsible, along with the staff and police, should all be held accountable for endangering our children via negligent acts.

  10. I don't see where Elaine regarded it as insult. To the contrary, I believe she pointed out that an elected official used it as an insult (at worst) or commenting on a constituents's sexuality (at best). I don't see how any reasonable person would view that email as acceptable conduct for an elected official.

  11. Elaine, you should pass the email exchange along to the ACLU, etc. and allow them to join in the call for her long overdue resignation. Forward to KDKA/WTAE as well...

  12. Calling Elaine a lesbian isn't an insult, let's make that very clear. I think it should be pointed out that people representing all types of sexual orientation have contributed to the effort against the cull, including speaking out at the meetings. The problem with these emails are how utterly inappropriate and out of control they are coming from an "elected" official. I'm not sure if the insinuations in her email show a homophobic tendency in Ms. Linfante or whether she just genuinely thinks that way. One way or another that is no tone for an official to use.

  13. 12:29 PM, I have been getting emails from Kristen advising me to seek psychiatric help, advised me to visit Rollier's paint department if i chose to live in my basement during deer culls, said that I have a miserable life, and that I have a lonely and pathetic life. She has also recommended that I get a hobby. It is all on this blog.

As far as getting her to resign, "it ain't gonna happen." To get her off the commission, it has to come from the governor. We are stuck with her until January 2016.

  14. If I were part of the local D committee or part of the County committee, Id be ashamed and embarrassed. Guess Lin-freako didnt get the memo that her party is supposed to be defenders of the gay lifestyle. Yet here she is insinuating it's an insult. Hello? Local Dem leaders? Are you once again going to pretend youve lost your hearing again?

And stuck with her until 2016? So far, she's offended hunters, gun owners, people who have real jobs, married people, single people, pretty much anyone who can read and now gays. Theres plenty of time for to offend our Indian and Asian residents. Come on, Krissie, you can do it.

  15. I don't see how Elaine said anything about an insult. It is Ms. Linfante who most definitely appears to use it as one towards Elaine. How can our town accept such immature behavior?? Mostly her behavior is snobby and a lot in this town are just like that so it makes sense. But this immature bickering over email is not something we should accept of our town reps.

  16. I don't want people to lose focus. I was advised to post these emails on my blog. I would like to put the photos from last night ahead of this post. To do that, I will change the date of this thread to last night. Just an FYI.

  17. Linfante's behavior is not even justified snobbery, it's aspirational snobbery. Linfante is presently unemployed, (her job pays no income, per GuideStar)and lives well above her means, yet desperately postures herself as some elite, cultured, highly educated woman. Sorry, but going to school to play the violin (or whatever) doesn't make you a doctor of anything. The best course of action has already started to occur- her self-implosion that happens when she doesn't get her way, becoming less and less relevant. The vapid, heartless and vile woman which has no audience, friends and/or family left to posture to and "be better than" will eventually sleep in the bed she's long been making.

  18. Elaine, it's obvious that Linfant is trying to bait you in a SLAPP lawsuit. SLAPP suits typically revolve around slander/libel issues. There are situations in past SLAPP suits where courts have adjudicated ( including The Supreme Court )the end result of the plaintiff paying lots of money for legal fees and court costs. I can appreciate why you published the slander; however, Linfant is not worth your time, energy, money or anything else to be bothered with her. It's probably wise not to buy into this head game. I wouldn't even dignify her e-mails with a response. Linfant only seeks attention, so just move on, Elaine! You have many people who support what you do!

  19. I agree - this is bait, a distraction, and just shows how low people can go.

  20. Back to the more pressing topic...
    From today's thealmanac.net:
"Linfante, who has been a forceful proponent of culling deer, reiterated her support for the program. “I know this is a divisive issue in the community,” she said. “I also have no doubt there are too many deer.”"

Q: Commissioner Linfante just how many deer are there and what satisfied any doubts that there are too many, for you?
Do you want zero deer? Twenty? A hundred? Two hundred?
If you have no reliable count of how many deer exist in MTL, before a cull, how will you know when the deer population is juuussst right after a cull?
Or is this an instance where we need to rely on you to decide - I'll know the right amount when "I" see it!

  22. I've heard that Kristen personally attacked Anthony DiNicola, Ph.D. AND Laura Simon, Urban Wildlife Specialist, when she could not successfully refute their expert opinions. I guess her continuing abuse toward you means it is now your turn. She must be seriously threatened by you. Actually, she seems quite threatened by anyone who stands on TRUTH, her characteristic response being these personal attacks the TRUTH-TELLERS. Not crazy--just EVIL! AND SHE DIESN't even seem to notice that SHE IS BEING CONSUMED BY HER OWN HATE. How pitiful--

  23. Another fly in the ointment. Every local food bank/shelter in the area has been contacted, and they have each said that they could not accept venison obtained in this manner.

  24. I just want to move to Scott. Lower taxes, actual school buses and not a cut through community. I never give up on things but Mt Lebanon is one place that you need to throw in the towel. You will not win -and no one there cares about our issues. Move on to something that brings you joy. This community is not worth your spirit being taken down.
