  1. How many DUI arrests were made in Lebo in 2014 ? How many many reported vehicular accidents caused by DUI drivers were recorded in Lebo in 2014 ?

  2. Hopefully nobody will get sued this year for reporting on the activities at the DUI checkpoints.

  3. Off topic for sure, but does anyone know why we had 3 police SUVs and officers on duty in front of Luma at the corner of Shady and Castle Shannon.
Did somebody try to run thru the construction?
There were two in the Manor Giant Eagle parking lot and a Scott squad car at construction site at the corner of Green Tree and Conner yesterday.
Couple that with the need for three officers to ID dog walkers near Bird Park during the cull aNd one might think they're anticipating something.

  4. Too many cops with too high a budget and too money to spend on cars and toys. The overtime during final year helps load the already outrageous pensions - up to 90% of final annual compensation, including overtime.

  5. Funny, they couldn't protect the corn corrals...

  6. They arrested kids this week at the high school. The boys were probably following in the footsteps of our beloved turf promoters (eg, threats, harrassment, etc). Like father, like son.

  7. Don't tell me any more. I don't want to know.

  8. I see people blatantly blowing through the redlights on Washington Road sometimes right in front of the Public Safety Building but if a resident seems to roll through a stop sign, you get nailed esp at the end of the month..

  9. A friend of mine used to have a poster of a cartoon character attempting to hide and the text, "JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE PARANOID DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY'RE NOT OUT TO GET YOU." Maybe we could have some t-shirts made up to say the same thing. WHEN did this place get this CRAZY???

  10. 2:40 PM & 9:29 PM, I attended a library function one evening a month ago. There was apparently a DUI checkpoint on Washington Rd. nearby. Suddenly, around 8:00 PM or so there was a cop car all lights flashing pulling over a vehicle on Castle Shannon in the disabled parking lane for the library followed by 2 more cop cars with all lights flashing behind and in front of the vehicle pulled over.

There were 3 cop cars all lights continuing to flash (a color spectacular), 3 or 4 cops surrounding and interrogating the driver of the car for an entire half hour before they eventually hahdcuffed the driver, put him in the back seat of one of their lit-up cars, and they all took off, leaving the drivers car in the no-parking spot.

If that was a suspected DUI violation, it seems to me it had all the appearances of overkill.

  11. Thank Elaine. Maybe now that some of the deer that are roaming around will not be hit by the drunks that are driving around. IT is much better to spend 75k to stop drunk and texting drivers than to execute deer.

  12. How many deer-car incidents involved a drunk or drugged driver?
