It has only been used for a couple of days and already lots of violations.
Sunflower seeds in the dugout.
The chairs - love the red cup. Water, of course.
Where are the signs for the turf rules and regulations?
|
From Chip -
MIDDLE & WILDCAT FIELD With the opening of the middle/Wildcat field there are some guidelines and rules that we must adhere to. These are not suggestions but rules set forth by the municipality and manufacturer.
1 – No food of any kind permitted. Sport drinks and other beverages are to remain in the bench/dugout area. 2 – Gum & seeds are not permitted. 3 - Chairs, tents and any other objects that could cause damage to the surface are not permitted. 4 – Any shoes with metal cleats, tips or spikes are prohibited. 5 – No motorized vehicles, skateboards, bicycles or vehicles of any type. 6 – Snow removal of any type is not permitted. 7 – Permitted events have precedence over any other activities. 8 – No tobacco products, open flames etc. 9 – All garbage is to be disposed of after each event/game.

Water fountain on backorder |

More chairs this evening |

Who removes this mesh fencing? |

Mesh fencing to have multiple games |

Any shoe checks for metal cleats? Do other teams pay to play in tournament? |
When I drove pass the field today, many people with chairs, kids, and strollers were parked on the sidewalk watching the games. Sure looked like a safety hazard to me. Not only to the game watchers, but for motorists as well. Not something that the Commissioners probably thought of before hand.
ReplyDeleteWhy were they on the sidewalk? Is viewing from the sidelines limited now due to the "rules"?
ReplyDeleteWhat is up with those turf seams?
Not surprised they don't have a water fountain but man, it does seem like the muni is advertising that they can't get things right the first time.
10:38, you get a better view from up on the sidewalks on Cedar, I'm guessing. Also, the black lines on the turf are not seams if that is what you are referring to, they are shadows from the mesh fencing. The photos were to show how much crumb rubber was dumped in certain areas. The stuff is all over the place.

I wonder why the pavement is wet around the future water fountain. Is there a leak?
ReplyDeleteOff topic, but a friend sent this link to me.

Actually Elaine the water fountain even though it's just copper pipe with two valves does work as is. There is a valve near the bottom to turn it on.

Mt Lebanon bounced in the first round of the tournament? Glad that field is improving the play (NOT).
ReplyDeleteA little more about my off topic comment from 7:39 AM. I was unaware of that site, until now. The registration for that site shows a California address, but a German web service: see http://www.whois.com/whois/rssing.com They no longer have access to my blog since I went private. I was getting many hits from Russia, China, and Germany. I was quite concerned about this and didn't know how to handle it, except take the road that I did. So now you know the rest of the story. :)

In essence Elaine, the blog is safer now than it was when it was public, contradicting the skeptics.
ReplyDeleteYep, 2:25 PM.

Ms. Stevenson's regrettable comment frightened off potential invitees including yours truly...initially. I should know by now that you are trustworthy, Elaine.
ReplyDeleteTo each his own, 2:50 PM. Thanks for asking for the invite and thanks for reading Lebo Citizens.

Ha, ain't that perfect. The entitled and reckless turf people being undun by the entitled and reckless turf people.
ReplyDeleteTonight there was a gentleman sitting on the turf against the left field foul pole at Middle field...smoking a cigar.
ReplyDeleteNick M.
All we need now is snow removal and Mt. Lebanon has violated every rule. Isn't that just swell?
ReplyDeleteElaine
All in Week 1.

It's a disgrace Elaine. Between Feller, Donnellan, Morgans and Sukal, we are dishing out over half a million dollars in salaries and benefits and there are no rules and regulations posted anywhere by Mt. Lebanon staff for the million dollar turf. Like I've been saying, these high undeserving salaries are causing too much complacency.
ReplyDeleteNick M.
I learned that the field is covered with litter this morning. I also learned that Mt. Lebanon has their own sign shop above Public Works. They must be so busy that they didn't have time to make a sign of the rules. Silly me, no one would pay attention to them anyway.
ReplyDeleteElaine
Do u think It is random or intentional litter today?
ReplyDeleteMLSA sent out "the rules" for the turf to their soccer parents today.
ReplyDelete6:30, are the rules the same as the ones baseball has on their website? I can't find the rules on the soccer website.
ReplyDeleteNick M.
Same rules Elaine has posted here were distributed by MLSA.
