On the Catholic Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals

I heard another botched archery attempt today.

On October 1, 2015 10:00 AM, a dog walker spotted 2 doe and 2 fawns grazing on Pat Haven Drive. One doe had a slice of skin about 12 inches long hanging from her. The deer group eventually moved down toward Robb Hollow. Two men were tracking her, one in a brown uniform  (from Animal Control or White Buffalo?), the other in regular clothes. They followed the deer down to Sandrae. The dog walker then saw a Mt. Lebanon Police SUV drive down Sandrae. Everyone went behind a home in between Sandrae and Clemson. Four shots were fired. The dog walker was told that four shots had to be taken because that is what was needed to take down the doe. OMG.

  1. Or, did they shoot all four of them?

  2. The drawing of St. Francis is lovely. I like that there is a deer in the picture.

  3. No, the three have been returning to Pat Haven. Four shots were taken to kill that doe.

  4. I hope all of this information is being made public and dread as far as possible

The pro kill people are mired in animal cruelty, although I have no doubt they get a perverse sense of enjoyment from it.

The fact that It took 4 shots to murder one doe really makes one wonder about the competency of the shooter, in a densely populated community.

  5. Elaine this is a question relating to an earlier post regarding the privacy afforded to the residents who are receiving archery and/or sharpshooting services.

Have the White Buffalo?Tony DeNicola's contracts with Mt Lebanon indicated that if there is a legal issue, the municipality defends him? If so, wouldn't that mean that the denied RTK info is a falsehood when, in fact, for all intents and purposes, Tony DeNicola/White Buffalo is working directly for Mt Lebanon instead of the so-called collaboration with individual residents/neighborhoods?

  6. Just returned from the meeting. No vote yet. Overwhelming support for our side in citizen comments. The Chief of Police lied through his teeth. Bendel is one very flustered man. Coleen is a nut. Silverman is a nothing.

  7. I wasn't able to go to the meeting. Timmy the dog had emergency surgery yesterday. The chief lied through his teeth? Tell us more.

  8. Coleen asked the big cop to take the podium and address some citizen concerns about botched archery and wounded and dead deer taking to the streets. I had just raised the incident on Hazel Drive in my comments. Cop said that the Hazel Drive incident involved a deer that had been hit by a car on Washington Road and met his maker on the 300 block of Hazel. Cop gave some convoluted explanation. I had mentioned the bloody tarp. Kelly asked him about that. He had no explanation for the bloody tarp.
The only other incident that Cop knew about was the one on Ridgeview. He said that by the time the cops arrived on scene, the deer had fled.
    Liar, liar, pants on fire.

  10. It's time for the Dems to lean heavily on Andy R., their candidate of choice for Colleen's replacement. We need a non-lethal commitment from him.

  11. October 14 7:28,

I agree! We definitely need to support him if he will encourage serious consideration to the sterilization proposal.

  12. If you are looking for an anti-kill commission candidate in Ward 3, scratch Andy Reinhart off the list. He is pro-kill and said (this week) that if elected he will vote FOR SHARPSHOOTING.

  13. What is baffling is when given a choice of paying for lethal methods or agreeing to sterilization at no cost, why people choose lethal methods.

It's also clear that the majority of residents could want non lethal methods, but if the commissioners who are in the pro kill biddies' pockets, vote for lethal methods, then Lebo is stuck with lethal methods on a never ending basis.
