Tuesday's vote UPDATED TWICE

The agendas have been published for Tuesday's commission meetings.

The commission discussion session agenda includes an hour discussion on deer with Tony DeNicola explaining his contract and the status of the sterilization proposal from the HSUS.

The vote for "sharpshooting" is on the Tuesday commission meeting agenda. Keith McGill got his way since there were three commissioners who backed him up. In the old days, the president or the manager would set the agenda. The commissioners will be authorizing Part 2 of the contract - "sharpshooting." Never mind the fact that the archery will be continuing for eleven more days. It doesn't matter that they don't have all the facts. There is no clarification on the contract where it was mentioned SPECIFICALLY that there will be no shooting from the back of the vehicle, yet DeNicola WILL be shooting from the back of a vehicle.  Forget that we don't know which public places will be hosting the killers. Who cares that there are almost 275 Not In My Yard signs in Mt. Lebanon yards with less than 20 properties who had archers killing deer? And finally, the new commissioner has already made up his mind that he was for sharpshooting prior to hearing what the costs were. And he's a CPA!!!!!!

January 8, 2016 7:09 PM Hey look! There is my name under "Litigation" during the Executive Session! My hearing is scheduled for February 26, 2016 at 9:30 AM in front of Judge O'Brien. Thanks to all who have helped me with my legal fees so far.

January 11, 2016 8:18 AM Here is the docket for the first case listed under Litigation. The agenda for the commission meeting indicates that a settlement will be awarded to Ms. Pedder.

  1. What will they do when there aren't enough deer left to kill? When they're killing faster than the deer reproduce? Because you know they will kill all of the fawns and pregnant doe too. That's what they've been doing. Is that a correct statement?

What about when they've killed deer from surrounding communities who migrate in?

This isn't a cull to reduce deer/vehicle collisions or to reduce numbers.

It's been a full fledged genocide/blood bath/ murder spree since the bait, corral and shoot fiasco.

It doesn't matter how many they've killed. It will never, ever be enough. They want to annihilate them.

They will fight anyone and everyone in court who tries to stand in their way

  2. The new guy McLean is a wimp like Silverman.. though they are tough when it comes approving the requests from the wealthy homeowners to hire someone else to shot and kill innocent animals ... I have connections with both Wards and know the type of people living in those areas.. they don't want any fences or netting or change their "scrubs" they want to spend our money to eliminate the nuisances on their property...

  3. There really should be a way to expose all of this to various media outlets who will report the truth.

How long can this incessant slaughtering go on before the public wises up?

You'd think there are a million deer in Mt. Lebanon.

  4. 9:49 what would u expose? How about the threat on the streets due to deer actually being a gigantic exaggeration. I don't think there has ever been a traffic board mtg that even heard the word deer mentioned. Not one mention and yet, such a danger!

  5. Reading comments on Facebook or newspaper articles, and hearing citizen comments, i am mystified at the reaction of people who happen to see three deer traveling together in Mt. Lebanon. They are under the impression that they should no longer see ANY deer. Deer live in family units. So what if they see three deer or even eight deer? They could be the last three or eight surviving deer in Mt. Lebanon. I wrote a letter to the editor nine or ten years ago. I said that nobody was happy in Mt. Lebanon. The people who didn't want deer killed were upset and the people who wanted the deer killed were mad that the deer were not annihilated. Deja vu. Very, very sad.

  6. 10:03 p.m., That's exactly what should be exposed. The deer being an exaggeration along with the lack of transparency with regard to everything related to the deer and the slaughter.

I'm just surprised that something so barbaric, unnecessary and which poses a danger to residents can continue to go on, and legally!!!

  7. Elaine, wow - they included your name. Is that a first for executive session details?

  8. I am glad Ms. Pedder filed suit. The streets reconstruction/paving situation is completely dependent on politics. There are streets in Mt Lebanon that have never been reconstructed or repaved (mine is one) despite their need.

  9. I am too. Our commission believes they are above the law on so many levels.
