Don't expect a LeboALERT for Dan's RTK session

In my previous post, I shared a link from Dormont's website with an announcement for State Rep. Dan Miller's Right To Know seminar.

Curious minds wondered how our "transparent enough" municipality was going to play this.

Here ya go:

Good afternoon Elaine,
The municipality typically does not send out LeboALERTS for events organized by elected officials, unless the municipality is directly involved with the event or participating in some way.

Hi Keith,

Will you be sending out a LeboALERT for State Rep. Dan Miller's RTK seminar which is this Thursday?

To which I replied, "Of course."

Shortly after I posted this, I received two examples of LeboALERTS sent specifically for Dan Miller's events.

I do hope that your right-to-know officer participates.

Below is an email that I received where you sent out a LeboALERT for Dan's mental health summit. And below that, a LeboALERT for another one of Dan's events.

It would be nice if you would be consistent with your LeboALERTs.

Here is Dan Miller's mental health summit.
Our commissioners need their heads examined, so I guess it ties in with local government.

Here's a lebo alert for Dan Miller regarding legal issues.
Not sure how it ties in with local affairs.

  1. I'd be real curious to see if Bonnie Cross attends this "free" seminar being that she is the Right to Know officer for the municipality and what she could learn will benefit the Mt. Lebanon taxpayer, again, at no cost.

On the other hand we're going to spend roughly $3000 to send the PIO manager to New York for a conference that has no benefit to the Mt. Lebanon taxpayer.

Let's see if Bonnie Cross attends...hope she does.

  2. Why would they be transparent about a transparent session on transparency?

  3. Perhaps Dan Millers panel addresses the number of juveniles arrested in the past 10 dats for robberies, accepting stolen goods, etc. RA

  4. You know they are up to no good if they won't announce the Office of Open Records coming to Mt. Lebanon. These are the same people who appealed two of the Office of Open Records' decisions and took me (a widow living on Social Security) to court.
