How long has this been on the municipal website?

Rent a Home

I found it when I was looking for the police blotter, which this week, is two pages long.

  2. I note that Stevenson Williams gets free municipal advertising notwithstanding its failure to pay property taxes to Mt. Lebanon. Makes sense, right?

  3. N., I told someone the other day that I try to look at the big picture. This is a panorama! It is wrong on so many levels. Free advertising (or was it?), inviting transients who don't take "ownership" in the community as John Bendel likes to point out, assisting the number one liened property owner year after year, and snubbing the real estate agents who Susan Morgans had a coffee with, to correct misinformation.

    Correcting misinformation

I wonder if Susan will host another coffee for the real estate agents explaining why she is not supporting their industry.

Renters are transients? There have been loonies against renters in Lebo since the get go.

"[A]ssisting the number one liened property owner year after year"

Wouldn't it make sense to help those who owe you money? Seems that's a better way to get repaid.

Anonymous' (no name?) post of September 22, 2016 at 1:25 PM is really interesting, both from a history perspective and a social commentary of those times (1952, e.g., "..because the kind of persons who would rent this thing are inferior and [with] the kind of children we don't want to associate with ours."). Can you imagine someone saying that in this town today?!! Wait! - come to think of it....

Mr. Thistle's protest that he paid $1,812 in property taxes may seem quaint to today's Mt. Lebanon homeowner, but according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics that would be equivalent to paying $16,454.81 today. One must remember that back in 1952 money had actual value, and that currency was backed by gold and silver. Today currency is not actual money because it's backed by nothing but wishful thinking.

  7. Apparently things have changed at the municipality: When one clicks on the "Rent a Home" link in Elaine's original post this message is returned:

"We're sorry, but there is not a web page matching your entry."

Ah, the famous "404" page not found error. Maybe it's been moved? Si?
