"Board member Michael Riemer asked the board to consider an outside audit of the campaign. “I just want to reassure all of those who contributed to the campaign that their wishes will be honored,” he said."
If Riemer were really sincere in his desire for an outside audit he'd contact PA Auditor General DePasquale to launch one. His request would carry more weight than one from an ordinary citizen
"Pennsylvania Auditor General Eugene DePasquale said Thursday that his office will audit the troubled Woodland Hills School District a year earlier than scheduled in response to concerns raised by government officials in the district's communities."
Janice's reporting continues to impress. She may be just a few questions away from a Pulitzer. Keep asking those questions, Janice. Don't let them bully you. Remember...
"it is the duty of a newspaper to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable".
It appears on paper that Jan Klein has been transferring money from the donor account to help pay some of the expenses. That might explain why the disbursements of $310,906.47 plus the money left in the Pittsburgh Foundation of $121,650 is about $190,000 short of total donations received. If that's the case then this whole thing is collapsing in on itself.
Listening to the podcast, Jan Klein said herself that 14% from each donation would be needed to pay back the loan. Apparently this isn't happening. 14% of $622,929 is a little more than $87,000 and so far only $12,500 has been paid back which leaves the $910,000 loan balance due.
Maybe someone else on the blog can come up with an explanation for the $190,000.
Every time I look at that humongous pic of Timmy, this song comes to mind. "You can't hide your lyin' eyes And your smile is a thin disguise I thought by now you'd realize There ain't no way to hide your lyin eyes…" Elaine
And if Steinhauer and crew wanted to be as transparent as they claim they are and desired to put questioning behind them they they request an audit by AG DePasquale themselves.
