Just peachy

Remember the case that Blaise Larotonda dismissed on December 27, 2017? Summary Trial with next door neighbor begins tomorrow at 9 AM UPDATED  The Honorable(?) Blaise Larotonda is swearing in this clown at Tuesday's commission meeting. January 2, 2018 Commission Agenda Good thing Blaise dismissed Craig's case since he will be the commission liaison to the Parking Advisory Board. Also a given, he will be the Sports Advisory Board liaison.

Craig's September 5, 2017 Public Drunkenness and Similar Misconduct arrest remains active. Maybe he can get that dismissed too since he will be the Alternate for SHACOG.

Blaise is also swearing in Treasurer Joe Senko. Joe is not a popular guy these days.

"Disgusted with Government..."

  1. The people of the 4th ward voted for him and he will serve the community well.

  2. Correction: SOME people in the 4th ward voted for him. There are 5,146 registered voters in the 4th Ward. Craig Grella received 883 total votes - or to put it another way, only 17.1% of those enfranchised to vote in the 4th Ward bothered to vote for him. This is hardly "The people of the 4th ward..." When you hear or read such flummery it almost always comes from a political toady. As to whether he will "serve the community well" remains to be seen. Robert Fischer received 636 votes, or 12.4% of the registered electorate, and consequently he lost. The total turnout for the 4th ward was 1,519 voters (30%). So, yes, Grella received the majority of the votes cast; but he did not get the endorsement of the majority of the REGISTERED VOTERS in the 4th Ward.

Bottom line: the vast majority of people who could have voted for Commissioner in the 4th Ward did not do so. Why? Nobody knows. Of course the 2nd Ward has the same problem; we elected a Commissioner who received the majority of the VOTES CAST, but cannot claim to have the support of the majority of REGISTERED VOTERS for the simple reason that the vast majority of registered voters in this Ward stayed home. The simple truth is that all our Commissioners are elected to office by minorities and have no moral authority to say they represent the will of the majority of registered voters in their respective Wards.

I would have great respect for any Commissioner that states the obvious: "I have been elected by a majority of the people in my Ward who bothered to vote, and I recognize that this majority is only a small fraction of the people who could have voted for me or my opponent but did not do so." I will, however, not "hold my breath" for such an admission.

  4. Thank you, Mr. Gideon. Probably half the voters in Ward 4 don’t even know who Gorilla is.
