You're not going to believe this but...

I want to share a brilliant response from Barack Obama on gun law restrictions.

  1. Perfect...why can't all of America get on board. Responsible gun owners ought to be the ones at the forefront of this movement so as to protect their rights to own them.

  3. And that is not an anti-gun person's opinion. I was protesting along with hunters in front of the municipal building. Hunters are not happy with the PA Game Commission. Yes, 5:40 PM. You are right. This clip was from the Obama administration. The NRA has tied their hands.

  4. I’d say interpreting the intent of the Second Amendment might play a big roll in what to do with gun control regulations as well.

    Now as long as you’re in a mood to tamper with the Bill of Rights, I guess we could go hog wild and start modifying all them because some people don’t like something. Let’s do away with:

    #1. Freedom of Religion, speech and press.
    Fortunately, it allows this blog to exist, and be critical of government and to demonstrate in front of the municipal building even though others may disagree.

    #5. Protection of Rights to Life, Liberty and Property.
    “No person shall be held to answer for a capital or otherwise infamous crimeunless on a presentment or indictmentof a grand jury, except in cases arisingin the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offenseto be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use without just compensation. That “nor be denied” part is wrench in gun control ain’t it!

    #9. Other Rights kept by the People.
    “The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.”

    and lastly

    #10. Undelegated Powers Kept By The States And By People
    “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.”

  5. The Bill of Rights are not absolute and asserting they are, as you do in your post 6:33 PM, is quite ignorant or intentionally misleading.

    With respect to the first amendment, which you also cite in your comment, there are numerous restrictions on your rights, such as your right to incite violence, to make false statements, to make obscene speech, etc.

    There are restrictions on your 5th amendment right against self-incrimination as well as others.

    Reasonable gun laws do not eviscerate the 2nd amendment nor do other reasonable limits on your constitutional rights "tamper" with the Bill of Rights. Gun laws have been around a long time and acting like any change in gun laws is an affront to the Constitution is disingenuous.
