Candidates Forum TODAY

Sorry for the short notice, but I just found out about this event, which is being held today, Orthodox Easter Sunday.

Join Progress 18 PA, 412 Resistance, and Mt. Lebanon Rise Up for an opportunity to meet Ray Linsenmayer and Conor Lamb, the Democratic candidates running in the May primary for the new 17th Congressional District of PA.

The monthly meeting of Mt. Lebanon Rise Up takes place prior to the forum, from 3-4 pm, and will feature a presentation by Moms Demand Action. During the forum, the candidates will talk about their campaigns as well as take questions from the audience. You are welcome to attend either or both.

Please RSVP here:

  1. Just an FYI. Mt. Lebanon Rise Up idolizes Conor Lamb. Just sayin'.

  2. You can't come. It is closed to the media.

  3. All those groups idolize Conor Lamb, 4:03 AM. So, why have the speaker from Moms Demand Action? That group is completely opposed to the Lamb gun agenda.

  4. 5:01 AM, now that's not nice. Happy Orthodox Easter!

11:10 AM, just more hypocrisy from Team Lamb.

  5. I just got home. I know that you are celebrating Easter so I will make this quick. Ray is heads above Conor in every way.

  6. Although people did clap for Conor, at the end of the day it was Ray who got more applause---especially for his anti-gun position.

  7. 8:11 did you hear Lamb repeat that he is against the assault weapons ban? He is good with weapons of war on the streets of his District. Nice message on your Easter, Elaine !

  8. That's OK, 8:15 PM. All the Greeks were carving leg of Lamb tonight.

  9. This is weird. I try to look at this blog once a week just to see what's up and what Lebo people are talking about. I was also going to post something about today's candidate forum on this blog. Here is what I wanted to say. Why wasn't the event advertised? I was pleasantly surprised to see a post about it here on this blog. But, why don't the people sponsoring these events try to get more people to show up? The room was not empty but it sure wasn't a full house. There were entire rows of chairs with nobody sitting on them. It's hard to say about how many people were there. There was a lot of coming and going near the door. I think that some "progressive" group sponsored the candidates forum. But, it's certainly isn't progressive to keep the community in the dark. It's a shame.

  10. 11:25 PM, the "progressive" group was playing it close to the vest. It was closed to the media, only because the media would be focusing on Conor Lamb's stance on assault weapons. The 'progressive" group consists of HUGE Lamb supporters. Otherwise, Conor Lamb would have to go with his "I'm not here to talk to the media" shtick. I can guarantee that IF Conor Lamb has the kahunas to show up to the Students' March on April 20, he will resort to his "I'm not here to talk to the media" crap.

For those Democrats who are voting for Lamb only because he has a better chance of beating Keith Rothfus, I have news for you. ANY Democrat will beat Rothfus. So vote for a GENUINE Democrat, "Ray for PA." You won't see any photos of him holding an AR-15, and claims that he still loves to shoot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BnOHydNcrM

  11. I agree, Elaine. This election is completely different for the dems than the special election in March. I voted for Conor in the special. I would have voted for ANY democrat. I did not want Saccone to win. You're right, Elaine. The Rothfus seat will be won by a democrat. Any democrat. But now we have two dems to choose from. So, why not vote for the one that reflects your values? For me, that candidate is Ray Linsenmayer.

  12. I wish I had known about the candidates debate yesterday. I would have been there. I knew nothing about it until I opened this blog today.

  13. The comment at 8:56 AM is not only from this blog's owner but from a former life long Republican. She knows more about the progressive movement than those who call themselves "progressive" do.

  14. Voter registration in the newly formed PA 17th Congressional District favors Democrats by a fairly large margin. A Democrat will win the seat now held by Rothfus. Rothfus is gone. That's a given. So, it's either Ray or Conor who will win the race.

  15. 12:07 PM, if you would only show me the secret handshake.

  16. It's pretty obvious that E.T.Gillen, a known Trump supporter, doesn't really care about "real Democrat" candidates.

As always, E.T. Gillen is completely clueless and obviously in need of medication.

Also, the "secret handshake" is a big middle finger to Trump supporters like E.T. Gillen.

    Cheers!

  17. 7:25 -> A Lamb supporter

  18. 7:25---Conor Lamb is NOT a real democrat. He may as well be running on the Republican ticket. Oh, he also does not support most of America and his dem colleagues in Congress who want to raise the age to buy the guns he likes to 21. It is now at 18 years old.

  19. I find it humorous that progressives like to say Lamb won because he "ran on progressive economic issues" and Republicans like to say that Lamb won because he ran as a Republican.

Proves that there is a center, and it's worth fighting for.

I also find it humorous that E.T. Gillen is so fond of deer, but has no problem voting for the Republican agenda, which isn't environmentally friendly at all.

I find "real Democrat" progessives, who haven't actually won a single important election, to be full of hot air.

    E.T. Gillen voted for Trump.

She does not get to pretend to have any sort of moral high ground about anything.

There is no greater hypocrite in all of Mt Lebanon than E.T. Gillen, and the only people who take her blog seriously are a handful of people who clearly aren't the brighest crayons in the box.

Stick to harrassing and smearing school board members, E.T.Gillen.

    Because Conor Lamb?

    He's out of your league.

It actually makes sense you'd back Ray, the candidate completely unable to articulate a single position with a vision and specifics.

But governing in Congress, unlike maintaining a blog about deer and the school board, requires more than talking points and sound clips.

  20. Ray Linsenmayer and Conor Lamb are both articulate. I just don't favor the substance of Lamb's articulation.
