This was the only public, anonymous Mt. Lebanon forum that I am aware of. In order to be a member of one of the many closed Mt. Lebanon Facebook groups, you have to send in a request. If the administrators like you, or you are a member of the Mt. Lebanon clique, you will be approved. Bullies are approved, but those who expose them are banned. Good luck!
Update May 31, 2018 3:25 PM For those of you who are not good enough to be in one of the many closed Mt. Lebanon Facebook Groups, I have decided to keep the blog going on a part-time basis.
#undesirables, #deplorables already taken
I wish you would seriously reconsider.. always appreciate your posts..
ReplyDeleteElaine, you have always provided so much Mt. Lebanon information! I have relied on your blog, as have so many others! I hope this is just a break. But, I understand if you want to stop the blog . --- after all, you have been the target of a lot of bullying. I'm so sorry. Please know that many of us appreciate this blog.
ReplyDeleteUnproductive and pampered Lebo School District and Municipal administers rejoice! You are now free to return to your feckless and bumbling efforts in complete obscurity. Paradise!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the emails. I also approved a few, not all, the comments.

Elaine, if you end your blog, the deer will lose their voice, and the small group of elitist and soulless deer haters and killers win. Tony DeNicola can mug the taxpayers ongoing with no exposure to the corruption and cover-up by the commissioners. Your blog was the only voice that exposed this animal cruelty, the inhumane slaughter of doe and fawns, the refusal to implement humane management alternatives, and the mugging of the taxpayers. Your blog and voice is a life and death issue for the deer in Mt. Lebanon. So I appeal that you reconsider your decision. Please take a summer vacation and some time off to recharge if needed, but please come back if for no other reason than to be a voice for the voiceless and the innocent, and to fight this ongoing and unnecessary animal cruelty.
ReplyDeleteVery well said, 8:27 PM! Totally agree!
ReplyDeleteElaine, I think I am a member of the Facebook group of which you speak. You are not missing much. The administrators are trying to imitate your Blog..discussing hot topics in Mount Lebanon. They are pale in comparison. Key members include PTA heavies and elected town people.
ReplyDeletePlease reconsider.
Yep, that's the one. I just canceled my request to join. I got the message. I see who the members are, 7:24 PM. All the same ones from "Just a Mt. Lebanon Housewife." See https://lebocitizens.blogspot.com/2018/01/for-posterity.html Coincidently, the federal government ruled on the issue that I had brought up in that FB group. Timmy was wrong, yet I am the one who got kicked out and is banned from local FB groups because I exposed more corruption. You can be a bully, but you cannot expose the bullies.
ReplyDelete8:27 PM, I hate to burst your bubble, but elitists and soulless deer haters and killers won years ago. What good was it to expose the corruption? Tony DeNicola is not the problem. He is a contractor hired by the municipality. I have appealed to the highest court in PA and it did no good. I have tried every angle to stop it. The economics, the safety aspect, non-lethal options, myth busting, religious beliefs, psychological impact, protesting, letter writing, speaking at commission meetings, press releases, petitions, legal, you name it. Hundreds of deer died. People were traumatized. Families moved out of Mt. Lebanon. My blog and voice meant nothing. Even showing that it cost taxpayers $1352.81 per deer, nobody even blinked. It isn't even discussed at commission meetings or discussion sessions now. I tried to be a voice for the voiceless and the innocent, but it was useless.
Ironically, the woman responsible for the death of all those deer was at Shop 'N Save on the same day as your post. She rose from the dead! Was it a sign to come back and fight some more? I doubt it. She seemed in very good spirits. And I am known as the crazy deer lady from Mt. Lebanon.
Reconsider? It's a loser and not worth the stress. The haters won. Thanks for reading.
Elaine
8:27 PM, I forgot to mention almost 400 yard signs, radio talk shows, and television. All a waste.
ReplyDeleteElaine
Don't let the haters win. God bless.
ReplyDeleteElaine, non of your work was a waste at any time. You have done a wonderful job keeeping the public informed. You have done a great job!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is no one who is out there doing what you do! It’s most important that you continue what you do. Ignore the bullies and leave out your emotions. Keep posting revelant information to the community. I vaulue you greatly. Thank you for all that you have done!!!
Thank you all for your kind words. The haters and bullies will ALWAYS win. Mt. Lebanon is filled with haters and bullies. They are on the school board. They are on the commission. They work in the municipality. They work in the school district. They are members of PTA. There are haters and bullies on the local political committees. Facebook is loaded with them. They are on NextDoor. They win. Always. It doesn't matter if they are anonymous or proudly show their kids on their profiles. They have solid followings. They control the media. They are in leadership positions. When I added a roof to my front porch, I was reassessed and my taxes went up $1.64. That is one dollar and sixty-four cents. See

That occurred when I was running against my commissioner. Years later, I was taken to court by the municipality, trying to keep my true reason for fighting the deer killing private, but even that was taken away from me.
I have something on my FB timeline. "Be careful when you blindly follow the masses. Sometimes the M is silent."
I admit that this has been quite a lifestyle change for me. After doing this for 7.5 years, it is a tough habit to break. Suddenly, I have more time to sew. I want to relocate, but my family is mostly here. I hate going to the grocery store. I had one hater crash her cart into mine. She was a PTA mom. I would love to live somewhere where haters don't show up at my door. Some place where people don't take cheap shots at me on both sides of the podium. Something had to give. There is no solution. Our community is overrun with bullies.
Part of me really wants to continue, but I have to admit that when there are people who want to see me fail and work to that end, it sucks. Even if I have a weak moment and decide to continue, the bullies and haters will still win. They will say that I was just grandstanding or fishing for compliments. It will be twisted somehow.
Thank you for your support. There is no way to keep the bullies away, just like there is no way to keep deer out of Mt. Lebanon. The idiom that you can't fight city hall holds true. It is foolish to fight a battle that I can't win. The bullies win every time.
Elaine
don't worry about the haters Elaine.. there are everywhere,, in my neighborhood the most down to earth people are the ones that are new to the area,, esp out of PA..i find the women who live here and grad from Lebo Schools are very cliquish and exclude the outsiders from gatherings..exclusion is also a form of bullism. when it first happened,, I was ready to pull up stacks,, but I decided to ignore them and just find my people elsewhere...
ReplyDeletealso Elaine,, you are our Lorax of Mt. Lebanon:
"I Speak For The Trees, let 'em grow, let 'em grow, but nobody listens too much don't you know. I speak for the trees, and I'll yell and I'll shout, for the fine things on earth that are on their way out. They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes i think progress progresses too fast."
sure the rich and powerful always win.. but keep on showing up, writing and letting them know that what they are doing just isn't right...
Because of my latest post, I guess I am still doing this.
ReplyDeleteElaine, the "Lorax of Mt. Lebanon"
Yes!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reconsidering! I live outside the Mt Lebanon/Pittsburgh area but am considering moving there. I currently reside in a similar area and know the powers that be have to be kept in check. I have been reading your blog for about a year and have appreciated all of your hard work and diligence in providing real insight into an area where I might live. Keep up the good work and fighting the good fight!
