Timmy is getting a 4% raise.
*(2) Annual Salary for Superintendent: RESOLVED, That the Board approves Dr. Timothy Steinhauer’s salary for the 2012-2013 fiscal year as set as $157,477, an increase of 4%.USC's superintendent took a pay freeze. So did their finance director.
This is freakin insane!
ReplyDeleteSome facts without comment:
ReplyDelete1. Dr. Steinhauer is hired in 2009 to assume the position of Mt. Lebanon School District Superintendent for the 2009/2010 school year at a salary of $140,000. He comes to the position with no experience as a superintendent.
2. The Mt. Lebanon School Board (MLSB) grants Dr. Steinhauer a 4.5% salary increase for the 2010/2011 school year, bringing his salary to $146,300.
3. The MLSB grants Dr. Steinhauer a 3.5% salary increase for the 2011/2012 school year, bringing his salary to $151,420 (mathematically is $151,420.50, but is rounded down).
4. The MLSB proposes an increase in Dr. Steinhauer's salary of 4.0% to $157,477 for the 2012/2013 school year (actually $157,476.80, but is rounded up).
5. Assuming the Board approves this latest increase (and there is no reason to think it will not), the total of salary increases to date comes to 12.4836% over the past three years for which increases were granted.
6. The rate of inflation from 2009 to 2012 totaled 7%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
USC's superintendent is number 1 in the state. Why does ours get a raise and USC freezes theirs?
ReplyDeleteSo Josephine, Elaine and Tim hid the Agenda in the district/stuff archives because the Board is ashamed of giving Tim a 4% raise. The Board has been caught once more hiding facts from the public.
ReplyDeleteWhat else are they hiding in this Agenda?
Jason Todd
That's it. I want to be reincarnated as the Mount Lebanon Superintendent. I would get hefty raises and get paid to get my picture taken all the time and hold breakfasts and lunches. It is a cake job for a cake school.
ReplyDeleteJason Todd. Good one. I never knew this.
ReplyDeleteJason, my heart skips a beat every time I see "Elaine" written. You are talking about our illustrious school board VP.
Just an FYI, Timmy's goals have not been posted for this school year. They are in such a hurry to give him a raise. Is it retroactive to July? And some think the bloggers are SPINELESS in this town!
Elaine
Richard,
ReplyDeleteI believe additional vacation time was given last year plus the ability to cash in vacation days. Bill M., do you have LY's true increase calculated somewhere?
Elaine
This was from August 2011:
ReplyDelete6) Amendment to Superintendent’s Contract: RESOLVED, that the Amendment to Dr. Steinhauer’s contract, increasing the maximum number of vacation days and reimbursed unused vacation days, is approved in the form presented.
Elaine
The cost of replacing him may well exceed the amount of the proposed raise.

Pay the replacement cost!
ReplyDeleteI will uploading the podcast this evening. Spoiler alert: Timmy gets his raise.
ReplyDeleteElaine
Disgraceful!
ReplyDeleteOK, podcast is up. Meeting is one hour and 18 minutes long.
ReplyDeleteElaine
I think 4:10 makes a great point. Would the alternative be even more expensive?
