Elaine Cappucci is president again with Larry Lebowitz serving again as vice-president. Dan Remely, Mary Birks, Mike Riemer, and Bill Moorhead were sworn in tonight. Dan never raised his right hand. Mike Riemer was the only one who used a Bible. Just some fun things to watch out for when watching the Reorganization meeting on TV.
I saw this really cool blog today:

It's a great use of social media that can provide an interaction between (in this case) a major retail chain and the public.
Wouldn't it be great if either Larry or Elaine C. hosted a similar format with Mt Lebanon residents?
THEY don't care what the citizens have to say and proved that numerous times. I'll have faith when ONE stands up and provides the emails and other papers showing how bids where brought in low so the High School garbage NEVER went to the voters. I'll have faith WHEN taxpayers are told why a Super was fired and paid off!

Come to think of it, this would also be helpful for the Sports Advisory Board.

This is pathetic.

The Home Affordable Program is for the middle class. If your mortgage is $625,000 or less, you most likely qualify. The Government wants banks to cut your rates, which puts more money in your pocket. However, the banks aren’t too happy about this because,
ReplyDelete1. You can shop several lenders, not just your current mortgage holder
2. Your home’s Loan-to-value (LTV) can be 80% to 125%
You think banks like the above? They’d rather keep you at the higher rate you financed at years ago. You should refinance your house. The average monthly savings could be up to $275.
Many homeowners not only save every month, they can also take a little cash for home improvements, a vacation, or make a nice contribution to the school’s fundraising.
Or the Turf Their World Fund.

ReplyDeleteBaldwin Whitehall residents stood up against their DEMOCRAT elected school board members and watched as the moron who quit to take the $120,000 year job quit that job only to return to the School Board. Think the DEMOCRAT elected Mt Lebanon School Board was watching?
ReplyDeleteHere is the Trib article, 5:43 AM.
ReplyDeleteSchmotzer resigns high-paid administrative job with Baldwin-Whitehall
Their petition of more than 1,200 signatures also sought for board members to be elected instead of appointed when vacancies arise, which is the case here too. Larry Lebowitz was appointed to fill the vacancy when James Fraasch resigned. You may remember how well prepared Larry was during the interview. He had answered all the board's questions in his opening statements before they were even asked. Amazing.

Here is the link to his interview. 2nd night of interviews I had forgotten that Larry was a member of Timmy's Key Communicator group. I wonder if they still meet.

I don't know who is right or wrong in the Baldwin-Whitehall school district situation, but I commend its residents for holding their school board's feet to the fire, so to speak. An elected board's first responsibility is to the electorate.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that the residents of Baldwin-Whitehall are overwhelmingly Democratic, as is their school board, is not as important as the fact that the residents there have called out their board for being elitist and dishonest. You may rest assured that what happened "next door" will be discussed privately amongst our own school board.
From the WPXI website:

There is no school Tuesday in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District because of a strike. The teacher's union said the district is not serious about contract talks.
Union leaders say the school board's negotiator cannot meet until March 8.
School has been canceled until further notice.
The sticking points are salaries, health insurance and supplemental contracts for coaches.
Teachers have been working without a contract since June.

Perhaps there is more to the story than the petition.
That was from 2007. Help me out. What are you saying?

Elaine, ML has some history from 2004 that still influences our trust level. Bringing out B-W's history doesn't increase your credibility any more than your constant ridicule of what our district is doing right.
ReplyDeleteWow! I did not see that one coming.

The Machine is as much to blame for this mess as the Democrats. The Machine is to blame for several reasons:
ReplyDelete1. They protected these people for decades.
2. They allowed Democrats to run as Republicans.
3. They protected the Democrats after they were elected using a Republican facade.
That's how we got where we are today.
As for my three Right to Know Requests Mr Feller, I will look forward to your response by December 24. Merry Christmas to you and Susan also.
10:53 - What the hell are you talking about? Elaine didn't bring out any history - that was 8:40am. BW happens to be in the news for what is happening NOW, not in 2007, and since what is happening over there involves charges of elitism and dishonesty - that's what some resident said on channel 2 last night - it's fair game to be mentioned here. A lot of people feel the same way about our board.
ReplyDeleteSusan's Backwards article....seen it? It puts the BW BS to shame. But it also sheds a light on the entitlements and protections that our community leaders expect and receive.
ReplyDeletePeople who write articles like Morgans and runs school districts like Tim seem to have the same entitlement mentality blood running through their veins.
And they get away with their shenanigans because those in charge of them have little intestinal fortitude to make changes for the better.
10:53 the BW story is interesting if for only two items.
ReplyDelete1. 250 taxpayers were interested enough in their school district to show up in rather quick response to a board action. In Lebo we're lucky if we get 5 people at a board meeting.
2. The board appears to have listened to 1,200 petition signatures.
Nowhere in the article does it mention that a board members claims to have spoken personally to or gotten emails from 1,200 wanting to keep the guy.
BW listens to its constituents as opposed to Lebo that talks down to theirs.
No BW School Board could care less about how their constituents feel they just care they got caught. Next time they will take actions like obama and do it on a Friday night after everyone has gone home. I'm sure Lebo's School Board has taken notes and planned the same.
