This year, a review of District programs and operations is underway. Four teams were formed to look at revenue generating opportunities, staff planning, utility management, and capital projects. The Capital Projects Review team will hold a Community Forum on Thursday, April 7th at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Library. The team will provide an overview of their work over the past few months. The public is invited to attend the meeting and share their suggestions.
Would love to hear from the other three teams. I understand there are big changes in staffing coming up. I guess they will be announced soon. If we had only scaled back the project. Last year at this time, the words, "Fear mongering" were being thrown around quite a bit. It is all coming true.

Any explanation as to why only a 3-day public notice ?
Bill Lewis
The last meeting was advertised on the Municipal website, the School District website, here Tonight’s Town Hall Meeting and here Corbett’s Budget Cuts
and Lebo Citizens' website. One woman, one man with a recorder, and a Boy Scout showed up for the eleven minute meeting.
There was more lead time with the last community forum. With only a 3-day notice, I hope more residents attend, including the proponants of the high school renovation.
Wonder if the board will divulge the results of the Harris survey sent out last year?
If my memory is correct, it cost around $7,000 to produce and mail.
If we could see the results BEFORE the board awards the HS construction contracts the district might have a better handle on what the community wants or not want in the project.
Nah, that'd make too much sense.

FYI, from the district website. Read bullet point #3 closely... wouldn't that be pertinent information for the forum?

"MTLSD Community Survey
November 16, 2010
The 2010 Harris Interactive Community surveys were recently mailed to Mt. Lebanon residents. The District first commissioned Harris Interactive to help with the data collection and analysis of a community survey in 2007. Residents with or without children in Mt. Lebanon schools are encouraged to complete a survey and return it to Harris Interactive on or before Dec. 10th. If you have questions or did not receive a survey, call Cissy Bowman at 412-344-2026.
Harris Interactive has over 30 years of experience in the design and management of customer-based satisfaction measurement systems. Using the firm’s School Poll program, the District will collect data using a set of standardized survey instruments used by many school districts across the country. Once the data analysis is complete, the results will be shared with the community. Click to review the results of the 2007 survey.
Constituent Satisfaction is one of the five goals of our Strategic Plan. To help us improve, we need to understand the areas that you feel should be addressed by the District.
Results from the survey will focus on three key pieces of information:
• The levels of satisfaction for major areas such as facilities, communication, administration, and school board/superintendent.
• The frequency of occurrence of specific events within the District.
• The effect specific events have on stakeholder satisfaction, and a prioritized list of issues that should be addressed to improve satisfaction.
Thank you for participating in the 2010 Harris Community Survey."
6:30 is a rotten time for a public meeting. The Board must not want much attendance.

John Ewing,
6:30 is bad, but 4:30 is even worse!!! The Policy Committee meeting is being held at 4:30 today. In order for it to be recorded, someone is taking time off of work to do it. That is ridiculous!
