A thought on the community pool renovation
Wondering if anyone would be interested in using the roof of the pool house as an adult lounging area where adults could relax, read or engage in card games, chess or group meetings/socializing.
That way people that don't have or necessarily want to be surrounded by kids could enjoy the sun and pool. Plus moms/dads could enjoy a break, but still be close by the kids.
Just an idea that might make the pool area more useful and club-like, and I'm
thinking it might be done inexpensively.

One of the reasons I thought about moving some of the lounging area to the roof top would be to open the pool to some more recreational activities for a wider range of ages.
Climbing walls may be nice, but how many of MTL's aging population is looking for that kind of activity.

For shuffleboard players, those are the sounds of summer.
On Tuesday mornings and Wednesday nights, shuffleboard players gather at the far end of Riverside Park for several rounds of the game.
The informal league—anyone can join in the play—is another one of Riverside Park’s little secrets, but league members wish everybody knew about it.
It might even be a revenue source with very little needed in the way of maintenance or supervision.
The pool could charge for court or equipment rental.
It would hopefully bring more 50+ and seniors to the pool and it would be something all age groups could participate in.
Just some more "off-the-wall" thinking.

How much would you all be willing to pay for an elevator?
I was waiting for someone to ask that question. We can put in a ramp that looks like this on the outside of the building: like a zigzag that has a gradual slope. Blogger won't let me draw it. Grr.

I don't believe I've ever seen a climbing wall or water slide with an elevator before
Climbing walls and water slides don't need to be accessible. That sort of public area proposed would be 7:40
I'm sure that detail can be resolved should people want ithe deck, maybe with a ramp something like the one in the first photo. It is not an issue that is insurmountable or that expensive to solve.
