This counts as an incident? UPDATED

Our Public Information Office has removed the Deer Incident Report dated 7/31/14, which showed a decline in numbers from a year ago. It has been replaced by this report by the Mt. Lebanon Police:

https://lebotools.mtlebanon.org/dit/public_incident_report.php The report shows that there are a total of 701 incidents in this report. Incidents are entered into this system on a monthly basis.

I am listed as reporting a deer with a broken leg and its fawns on 8/20/14. I DID NOT REPORT THAT!!!!!!!!! What happened was, there was a guy from animal control in the upper parking lot of Rockwood Park. He said that he was looking for a deer with a broken leg. I said that she is a mom and gets around just fine. He confirmed that after he saw her. Mt. Lebanon is counting it as an incident!

Forgive me. I am bleary-eyed from reading and watching all the news about the turf rally, so I may have missed it, but where is the incident which our blood-thirsty dictator reported at a recent commission meeting? Kristen claimed to have had the police shoot and kill an injured "baby deer" right in front of her house on Roycroft. I'm not seeing it. Does she EVER tell the truth? While fact checking, please check to see how many deaths have occurred from deer/vehicular accidents. The totals are not listed.

Deer management is on the agenda for tonight's commission meeting. Kristen has listed $68,000 for deer "management." Deer is our biggest concern here in Mt. Lebanon. Not toxic turf. Not pedestrian safety. Deer.

Update October 27, 2014 3:46 PM I emailed the commission this post since I am unable to attend tonight's meeting.

Kristen, you are missing the point of my email. I DID NOT REPORT ANYTHING to the police or anyone else in the municipality. Why is that on the report? How many other incidents have been fabricated by the municipality?

As far as the doe, I have no idea what happened to her. She may have burned her hoof on the hot, rubber pavers in Rockwood Park, for all I know. Perhaps your deer expert will shed some light tonight on the various ways a deer can injure itself.

How strange. I wonder how the deer's leg was broken. Perhaps it was a rough game of soccer in Rockwood Park. Surely it couldn't have been hit by a car.

With regards to the incident of the baby deer being shot in front of my house, I don't recall the exact date, but it was clearly before 2011 if it does not appear on this report.

All best regards,

701 "incidents" from 1/11/2011 thru 10/23/2014, or over a span of 3 years, 9 months and 12 days, many just observations of deer. "Incident" must mean a 911 call, including *hey, I seen a deer in my yard!* WOW

That deer incident report cracks me up.
Going back to 2011 there are 6 deer incidents with personal injuries.
Two of the reports state the drivers in an effort to avoid the deer careened into a utility pole. Smart... avoid a 200lb deer and drive into solid 3,000lb or more utility pole.
A third incident... the driver slammed on their brakes to avoid a deer and got rear ended.
Couldn't possibly be driving too fast or tailgating that caused the injury could it.
The other 3, we don't get any specifics.
Oh the humanity! People are dying on our roads due to deer, right Ms. Linfante?
Couple of thoughts here though.
#1. according to the reports, we seem to be doing an excellent job of thinning the herd without guns and
#2. I wonder how many accidents and injuries have been caused by falling tree branches and wet leaves on our roadways?
Those damn Maples, Oaks are everywhere. We better shoot down every last summabitch of them before they wipe out our whole civilaztion.
I'm with Linfante, get 'em all before the get us.
Some advice commissioner for what its worth. I'd sleep with one eye open, that viola is made of wood and its packing a bow!

ive said it before and ill say it again.. Kirsten or Kristen personally doesnt really care about deer..BUT she has political machine Democratic voters in her district who have gardens who have extensively eaten by the deer..they know that there have been very few car vs deer accidents but make up this story so the commissioners will take action on the basis of public Safety.. what a scam..

Linfante does not remember nor cares to know that the last Lebo cull was supposed to employ USDA sharpshooters specially trained and certified for deer culls, and guess what - they were no shows and USDA biologists road around in the back of pick-up trucks taking pot shots!

Anyone doubting this should call former Commission president and now our State Rep. Dan Miller.

I wonder how many of these accidents are compared to regular accidents.
What if these "incidents" of 6 since 2011 are literally .0000000000001% of the accidents in Lebo. You get my point.

I am glad to see that President Linfante still continues her legacy of sending nasty emails to residents. Mount Lebanon will talk about her for a long time and her nasty leadership. I don't think we have seen anyone like her in my lifetime. Hopefully never again.
Anyone doing follow up on her statements about the venison in Upper St Claire? Not that I don't trust our President but she does tend to what's the word flat out lie?

Last night, did anyone mention the aggressive driving blitz that is underway in the area?

http://www.observer-reporter.com/article/20141027/NEWS01/141029480#.VE_0jYvF9Gg

I wonder if aggressive drivers are to blame for all of the pedestrians that have been severely injured in the area lately. Could they also be responsible for the motor vehicle/deer collisions?

If AGGRESSIVE DRIVING has something to do with motor vehicle/deer collisions, then our biologist that spoke last night, along with Prez Commission are way off in their interpretation of their "deer studies and data" .

Variability in and among aggressive drivers would be considered a confounding variable in the study of deer/mv collisions within Mt Lebanon because this variable (driving behavior) was not included in any of the analyses of the data. Without recognition of this essential variable, we have threats to the internal validity of their "studies".

The biologist stated during the commission discussion last night that he would use "road kill" numbers to justify the cull.

So if "road kill" justifies a cull of deer, what does "pedestrian kill/maim" justify?

Maybe these commissioners and "experts" should stop pontificating on their knowledge of studies and research when they aren't qualified.

I don't know about aggressive drivers, but I'll bet speeding, cell phone and texting play a roll.
I'd imagine that last thing a driver would tell the police after they crashed into a utility pole is... 'officer I looked up from my smartphone and the deer was right in front of me!"
