The "good" news is now the PG is telling everyone that you can use any type of firearm on your property. Castle Shannon, Scott, Greentree, do you hear that? It isn't just in Mt. Lebanon. It is anywhere in the state. Feeling safe?

Since the Chief and the PA Game Commission are advocating private hunting, I would like to see the $68,000 from the 2015 Budget and $12,000 from the 2014 Budget allocated for deer management removed and put into infrastructure. We should thank Kristen Linfante for dropping this bomb on us at the January 5 Discussion Session. We don't need funding anymore for deer management. Neighborhoods are taking matters into their own hands. Kristen, I know you wanted $100,000 set aside in the Budget for deer management. Thank you for being resourceful and finding a way to kill all of your deer for free.

There it is! That old Catch 22. If nobody is violating state game laws, hunting on private property is legal because we don't have to be told if they have tags, proper safe zones or even where the hunt is occurring.
"If nobody is violating federal drug policy, then selling heroin out of your garage is legal". And the award for most asinine statement goes to...drumroll...
So it's now alright for people to discharge firearms within Mt. Lebanon? Awesome. Im going to set up some targets around my property and practice home defense. Hell, if people don't need any kind of actual checks and balances for deer hunting and are being encouraged to just do it on their own, that applies across the board. Why would I call 911 and report suspicious activity when I can just go deal with it myself?
Can somebody label what is going on in Mt Lebo? Obviously, I understand the fabricated deer threat to appease the gardeners. But the whole "just freakin take put the deer on your property" thing is beyond me. Is this a celebration of hypermasculinity? Is this a "screw you" for challenging authority? What is this because I find it repulsive whatever IT is. Sadly, if this "pull out your weapons" dispatch backfires on the chief, somebody might get hurt.

Perhaps all those opposed to hunting (harvesting) on private property should consider posting their property boundaries with signage every 50 feet with added signs indicating that armed trespassers will be forcibly disarmed, citizen arrested for criminal trespass and turned over to the state police since our local police department seems to condone and even support this hunting farce.
I'm with 9:24. One of the Chief's responsibilities is to preserve order so that anarchy will not come into play rather than turn Mount Lebanon into a township of anarchists.

8:33 AM There are already a number of prostitutes operating in Uptown, primarily elected and appointed so called public servants.
Two pornographic Twitter feeds were reported to the police, and the only change is that the less pornographic site has become private. The Devil's Den, the "less" offensive is followed by our online editor. She earns $31.67 an hour plus benefits working in Mt. Lebanon. I had sent an email to the commission about that and "someone" passed my email on to Dave Franklin because he immediately started to follow it.
The other Twitter feed is so bad that I won't even make a pdf of it or else I could go to jail for having child pornography on my computer. As of 9:00 AM this morning, our police chief has not removed it from Twitter.
Mt. Lebanon's downward spiral is due to our community leaders. Mt. Lebanon is out of control.

Making matters worse, Elaine, I received an email telling me this morning from my child's home room teacher stating that he has been encouraging the kids to follow everything Mt L on Twitter. I won't go on but I am beyond disgusted now. Reminds me of Steubenville's notoriety.
Is this apparent leissez-faire attitude percolating through everything in the community?
As I posted before, I think the new troll is John Hayes, the Post-Gazette's pro-hunting outdoors columnist, who is the mouth piece for the Pa Game Commission's efforts to promote "hunting" in all of Pittsburgh's suburban neighborhoods.
Today's article is only one of a series of articles he's written on Mt. Lebanon, and promoting hunting in Mt. Lebanon.
The troll even refers to John Hayes' past PG articles. In addition, I believe he is correcting his earlier misstatements of facts from reading Elaine's blog.
That said, Elaine makes a good case that the troll could be a cop, based on some of the police like language used and concerns with hunter harassment. IMO, if it's a cop, it's Chief McDonough.
Maybe both John Hayes and Chief McDonough are the new trolls posting on Elaine's blog.
This is all speculation on trolls.
What do we know and what do we not know.
We know Linfante said there was a hunt and that it may possibly be ongoing.
That is the only known. Even Linfante admits she has no idea where the hunt is occuring - so basically she doesn't have the slightest clue if its legal or not. She hasn't seen any hunting licenses which are required in PA, private land or not.
So #1. we really don't know if Linfante is spreading rumors or knows more than she's telling.
#2. if she knows more, somebody needs to be cgecking on whether the proper safe zones and distances from occupied structures, schools and parks are being followed and that the hunters have the proper hunting documents.
Who cares about trolls, they mean nothing.

They said they know nothing about the alleged hunt and if it's legal they don't want to know.
Which tells me they'll say nothing more than it's a legal hunt and it's none of our business.
Maybe someone can ask the Chief how he plans to maintain order in Mt. Lebanon and assure residents that they will be safe in their homes now that he is advocating private hunts. Just don't whine.

Why hasn't Chief McDonough, the other Commissioners, or the Pa Game Commission (PGC) asked Commissioner Linfante to tell them where resident hunting is going on in Mt. Lebanon, so that they can verify that it is legal hunting and within compliance of the regulated safety zones? We have children walking home from school and cutting through parks, corridors, and yards. This is a serious safety issue. At minimum, the PGC and Mt. Lebanon should want to take steps to make sure any hunting is legal, and to alert parents in the area to warn their children. Doesn't Commissioner Linfante have some legal responsibility to protect residents and their children? Shouldn't that be the number one priority of a Commissioner? Or am I missing something?
I just checked the ongoing deer "incident" report that is updated by the Mt. Lebanon Police Department on a monthly basis.
In December, a dead deer in a Roycroft yard was reported. Are the deer killed in Kristen's hunt being added to the deer incident report? Look at the report in triplicate on 11/24/14. Don't forget my FALSE report on 8/20/14. I NEVER filed a report. Makes you wonder about the total of 796 reported incidents, doesn't it?
This Mt. Lebanon Police report is a sham. It appears that Kristen and troll cop are working in unison.

There's a difference between a deer hit by a car and one takendown by a bullet or arrow.
Maybe the story about a legal private hunt is a cover up for somebody that got pissed the deer were eating their flowers and blasted away!
