The show must go on

Call it dedication or the spirit of Good Friday, but whatever it is, consider it great news. Our former commissioner, Kristen Linfante, will be performing tomorrow in concert in Shadyside. Bach concert in Shadyside celebrates devotion for Good Friday

Even though Kristen is now a private citizen, many people have been quite concerned about her serious medical condition. I wanted to share the positive news. It is true that Kristen and I did not agree on anything except the Williamsburg Park dog issue, I am happy to read that her health is improving. Best of luck, Kristen.

Are you sure you are not obsessed with her? Can you delete your Google news alert for her now? You will feel so much better!

yesterday, i received a postcard from the Pgh Renaissance and Baroque Society for Apollo Fire's concert at the end of the month in Oakland. Kirsten's picture was shown with the Group and i was wondering if she would be performing..i guess of hope her serious medical issues are behind her and wish her much success in her future esp as a performer..

Is this good news? I was unaware that she had ever STOPPED performing her music. Does this performance represent any change?

3:51 she resigned as my Commissioner for a serious medical condition.. thus i thought her performing days would also be on hold.. i too wish her the best in what ever her future brings. i didnt always agree with her, but i thought she was a decent woman. her only flaw was she did get a little emotional at the meetings and i personally thought it made her look bad.. even though she is a very talented woman..

Mount Lebanon was conned. http://communityvoices.post-gazette.com/arts-entertainment-living/arts-blog/item/38967-bringing-it-all-back-home-making-the-community-part-of-the-process

Just sayin"...

Maybe her "illness" was due to a mental issue that left her unable to perform her functions as a commissioner, due to the EXTREME mental pressure of being denied her opportunity to slaughter innocent deer and not being able to justify her position on the subject.

Stranger things have happened!

Just sayin'...

What a miraculous recovery. Gosh, and right before Easter. Thankfully, she can still play.

I wonder what the new progressive Dem leaders in this town ie Lifante, Papke and Labalme REALLY think of the old Democrats like Barbara Logan who still want to ram their thoughts and ideas down our throats.

I'm delighted to say that my schedule will permit me to attend this evening's performance at Calvary Episcopal Church at 8:00. I'm hoping to sit near the front so that I can witness this amazing recovery for myself. All I'm saying is that I've known far too many people in cancer battles and NOT ONE of them looked perfectly normal but in need of lipstick. And that's why I've said all along that I'm just not buying it. I guess time will tell... But won't that be the ultimate insult to anyone actually fighting that dread disease if she has feigned this whole thing to garner sympathy and to manipulate the other Commissioners so that she could get her own way? And now she's hiding, tired of seeing the "Kristen Lied" signs! Just saying...

How sad that you are going to church to prove to yourself that someone isn't sick.

Yea, that's what's sad here.

Betrayal of public trust IS sad... and the consequential response among residents is to confirm the truth.

Freud would have something to say about the word choices used by 11:30. Hmmm...I wonder what she meant by that?

I'd have to agree with 2:36 about the consequential response among residents and would suppose that some people did attend to prove to themselves "that someone ISN'T sick." Actually, I'm reminded of a quote from Mark Twain, upon reading his own obituary...

Anyway, Someone played beautifully and looked great!
That is until Someone noticed a face from the past, at which time anyone looking at Someone would have been stunned by the instant change in Someone's expression.

It is sad, on so many levels.

I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only Mt. Lebanon resident at the Good Friday evening event at Calvary Episcopal Church. I found the music to be stunningly beautiful and had to check the program several times to convince myself that those singing were not a professional choir but were, in fact, the Calvary Choir, itself. I had heard Chatham Baroque once before and was not surprised to find that I thoroughly enjoyed listening to their period instruments in the acoustically fabulous sanctuary.

This was not the first musical evening I have spent at Calvary Episcopal Church, but it was certainly the most memorable. The selections were lovely and unfamiliar to me. Each one was like a new gift being un-wrapped before my ears. The hour was over far too soon and left me wanting more, much more.

If you weren't there, you really missed something special!
