JB 19. Consideration to confirm the approval of a change order for the Wildcat Field turf project.
Vasco Sports Contractor has submitted Change Order No. 1 for additional trench volume to promote infiltration as required by the DEP in the NPDES permit. The change order totals $86,694. The Municipal Manager has approved the work and transferred $80,000 of available funds from the Bower Hill/Segar/Greenhurst signal project into the capital improvement fund account for this project.
Recommended Action: Move to confirm the actions of the Municipal Manager.

Agenda Item: The Municipal Manager has approved the reallocation of $250,000 out of the Veterans' Memorial donations received. These funds have been moved to the capital improvement fund, which is solely being used for additional Wildcat/Mellon field performance enhancements and change orders.
Recommended Action: Unilaterally affirm the exceptional management decisions of the Municipal Manager.

Taking the pencil to the paper, the Sports Cabal owes Mt. Lebanon $21,673.50 more.
How can it be a change order when the Comission knew and concealed the cost prior to the beginning of construction? Also, what does this project have to do with the BH intersection? Gateway is outta control with the funny math. Folks, these are funds that could be used for a variety of things, being literally stolen to pay for some acne-riddled, morbidly obese helicopter dads' field of irrational dreams.
What is the total cost of this project now with the changes? They know... I've written numerous emails to my commissioner and since I added a read and delivery receipt to my emails the a$$ isn't even opening them. I know they were delivered. Anyway to get this information?

"The commission always has access to all contracts and materials."

pennfuture just won an Environmental hearing board appeal based on the following argument:
the existing permitting program did not adequately ensure the quality of plans for reducing stormwater pollution, and it did not allow enough opportunity for the public to review or comment on stormwater management plans in their communities
Of note: the clock for an appeal is from nov 8 since that's when public notice of the pest was officially posted

I drove down Crystal Drive Friday afternoon and Brumfield and kid were getting in their car lacrosse gear in tow. That's what all this mess is about... Lacrosse. Mt. Lebanon doesn't have a lacrosse field and a certain commissioner will lie, steal and cheat to get one. Now the newest goal is to lie, steal and cheat to get their indoor "sports" complex that will have a full-size lacrosse field. Of course other sports can use it as long as lacrosse isn't. Costs for this project? Those are super secret... Guess those pesky Upper St Clair people are at it again! Out to steal Mt Lebanon's "Stuff".
The municipal website is down. It is unfortunate because I would have pointed out who is being recognized at Monday's Commission meeting, the co-owners of the new Cool Springs facility. I have always said that those two men did it right. In fact, there are plans to build an indoor sports facility there. Did I hear someone ask if lacrosse could be played there year around? Well, I suppose so.
Don't you wonder who selects these people and what is the methodology for this process?

The methodology is that Cool Springs converted the driving range to turf and they can't very well say anything negative about turf since it'll be used in their indoor facility.
Why they're being recognized when they'll be directly competing against our own sports organizations is perplexing!
It would be like Giant Eagle recognizing Trader Joe's.
Shanaham invested in the building next to the new hotel. He is renovating it and will be using the upper floors for offices. The first floor is allocated to prospective restaurant.
If you bring business to or invest in MTL, maybe, only maybe, you can be recognized by Feller too.

Lots of businesses have invested in protery throughout Mt. Lebanon, when were they recognized at a commissioners meeting?
There's something else afoot here.
One possibility is that Cool Springs signed onto a yearly commitment for ad space in the mtl magazine and the good PR is part of a quid pro quo.
It's great that the guy is investing here, but so did Bistro 19, The Galleria owners, Rolliers, Little Tokyo, Mineo's and others. I don't remember seeing them being recognized at a Commissioners' meeting.
They'd get a PR story in the municipal rag, just like BRGR has but that is about it.

I found out that Steve Feller decides who gets recognized.

"Knowing the support that the project has by 4 commissioners, I have no concern that the additional changes will be an issue. Again, this is my opinion. I do feel that the additional costs will be manageable.
If you ask what the estimated additional cost is, I do not know off the top of my head.
This project continues to move forward."
And then mixed in with additional snarky emails, Kristen finally read Monday's agenda and wrote this:
"The change order is approx. $86,000. Leftover funds from another project can/will be transferred to cover additional costs. The commission will confirm the action on Monday night."

When you add Gateway's expenses to that revision for doing their part, that sure adds up to one heck of an expensive change order. And that's only the first one.

Nick, Gateway didn't miss it. They just didn't expect anyone to find their lack of actual storm water management. Remember: the DEP just lost an environmental hearing board appeal arguing that their oversight of storm water management plans actually isn't effective.
8:49, I understand what you said, and the folks at Gateway with all their infinite wisdom should have anticipated this. Remember all the citizens who were complaining about the storm water at the "not for the general public" meeting? I guess that master plumber didn't know what he was talking about.
If Gateway were a credible company, instead of rushing to get this project started they should have done some homework first by asking folks from the DEP and the ACCD to pop by and take a look for themselves, if not for anything else, to make sure everyone was on the same page. But Gateway didn't do that and now we the taxpayer have to pay a little bit more and the SAB pays absolutely nothing more.
Like Elaine has been asking, will the SAB be kicking in more $'s??

Can you see it! The next accident at Bower Hill will have standing to sue Mt Lebanon because the commissioners STOLE money for that project so they can have Lacrosse tournaments in Mt Lebanon. Here in the bubble life comes second to a commissioner's kid playing a STUPID B sport.
That commissioner be D. Dumbfield, correct 8:12 PM ?
