I think Lamb's position on abortion is one of the most mature and responsible things I've ever heard from an elected official. How refreshing to hear a politician say that his own personal beliefs shouldn't automatically control or dictate how he does his job for his constituents. Most people I know are pro-life in their personal views, but aren't comfortable dictating those decisions for every woman in every situation. Too often, we have elected officials ramming their personal views down our throats (like Santorum, Murphy, etc).
11:40 AM, you do realize this is the Primary, right? Lamb's name will not appear on the Republican ballot. Your comment lends credence to my opinion that Lamb is running like a Republican. Elaine
Elaine, your last comment perfectly sums up the spirit of this blog: abrasive shortsightedness. All heart, no head. A Republican shows interest in a Dem candidate, proof of general electability, and you tell them to pound salt. You prefer empty martyrdom to incremental change. You make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Elaine, the comment by 11:40 had everything to do with the article YOU posted. You posted it, and 11:40 commented on it. Not to mention, 11:40 said that he/she is "supporting" Lamb. You translated that to a statement about voting.
But what's wrong with a voter identifying with a candidate (regardless of party) and wanting that candidate to appear on the general election ballot? Dan Miller (and Matt Smith before him) have always received strong support from Rs in Lebo, both in advance of their primaries and prior to the general elections.
I think that Matt Smith received a lot of R support in Mt. Lebo because he is a very conservative Democrat, like Conor Lamb. On the other hand, Dan Miller, is a lefty. But, he never has opposition. So, there is nobody else to support. I am not suggesting that someone should run against Dan. I will always vote for Dan because I am a progressive Democrat.

Glad to hear there is a choice. Looks like Linsenmayer is pretty different from Lamb on guns, abortion, and other issues.
