Lamb didn't sign

U.S. Rep. Conor Lamb, D-18, Mount Lebanon, who won the new 17th Congressional District seat on Nov. 6, did not sign the letter, although he has expressed his opposition to having Pelosi serve as Speaker. A Lamb spokeswoman said Monday that nothing had changed, noting that Lamb has repeatedly stated after the election that he would not vote for Pelosi in caucus or in a House floor vote.

Oh my!

The Post-Gazette endorses Keith Rothfus. Keith Rothfus for Congress: The PG endorses Rothfus in 17th District

Wouldn't you know it? I switched parties so that I could vote for Ray for PA He was the only candidate who was against AR-15, the weapon of war. Conor Lamb ran an ad where he was firing an AR 15 and the voiceover was "Conor still loves to shoot."

I would love to know what his position is with assault weapons now. Robert Bowers used an AR-15, all purchased legally, at the Tree of Life Synagogue.

The Post-Gazette is also endorsing Scott Wagner. 145 comments of name calling followed the editorial.

MLRC, how many do you have lined up?

Next year is an important year for electing school board directors. There are five seats (the majority) opening up in the next MLSD school board election. The only Republican (Al Frioni) on the school board was appointed, not elected. The Republicans, however, did vote for Elaine Cappucci, a Democrat whose ticket included two Republicans.

Mt. Lebanon Democrats have five, solid candidates lined up for next year's Primary. Already. Mt. Lebanon Republicans, how many do you have lined up? Do you have any? You might want to start thinking about that. No rush.

Meanwhile,
Predictions getting better for Lamb as House Democrats poised to make gains in PA

I'm confused.

I'm trying to get a handle on the Democratic platform. I called my kid to tell him that I switched parties. My son told me that I have been a Democrat all these years, but I just didn't realize it. Thanks, Joe.

Looking for answers, I first went to the Mt. Lebanon Democrats website. I thought I would start with their useful links. Oh boy.

Local Blogs

Blog-Lebo – bloglebo.blogspot.com
Center Court – jposti.blogspot.com
Not what I am looking for. I want a list of Democratic values. So I went to the state level.   Pennsylvania State Democratic Party –www.padems.com Nope. Not there either, but I did find out something interesting. Mt. Lebanon's commissioner from Ward 4 is no longer on the staff.
Is this odd or what?
President of the commission, Dave Brumfield, is not running for re-election again. Yay. The Democratic candidate running in Ward 4 is Craig Grella. Craig is on the PA Democratic Party staff as Digital Operations Director. It is a paid position. http://www.padems.com/party/staff/ Does anyone see that as a problem?
Still on the quest for the Democratic platform, so I went to the Democratic National Committee – www.democrats.org Bingo!

The 2016 Democratic Platform

So here is where I get confused.

Preventing Gun Violence
Our newly elected congressman seems to be leaning toward Republican values. Four more people were killed with an AR-15 outside of Nashville, TN.

And some progressive Democrats took issue with Democrats like Lamb for supporting the rule change, worrying that the Democratic Party is sending out the wrong message to Americans who are wary of financial institutions. U.S. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) tweeted on April 17, “Why did 78 House Democrats vote with Republicans to weaken the Volcker Rule, which was passed after the financial crisis to stop banks from making speculative investments? We need a Congress that stands with the American people, not the big banks.”
I'm still trying to sort it all out.

Enough is Enough | Photos from Walk on Washington (Road) UPDATED

Update April 22, 2018 8:47 AM Four people were killed and more were wounded early this morning at a Waffle House near Nashville, TN. The gunman was armed with what was described as an AR-15 style assault rifle walked into the restaurant in Antioch, in suburban Nashville, shortly before 3:30 a.m.

Conor Lamb, did you happen to catch what was used to kill four people? We had Mondays with Murphy. We have Where's Rothfus? Wednesdays now. I wonder which day of the week will be chosen for your office.

I know that I shouldn't feed the trolls, but this is hilarious

The following was submitted as a comment on my post, Candidates Forum TODAY. It was a continuation of an earlier submission.

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Candidates Forum TODAY":

I find it humorous that progressives like to say Lamb won because he "ran on progressive economic issues" and Republicans like to say that Lamb won because he ran as a Republican.

Proves that there is a center, and it's worth fighting for.

I also find it humorous that E.T. Gillen is so fond of deer, but has no problem voting for the Republican agenda, which isn't environmentally friendly at all.

I find "real Democrat" progessives, who haven't actually won a single important election, to be full of hot air.

E.T. Gillen voted for Trump.

She does not get to pretend to have any sort of moral high ground about anything.

There is no greater hypocrite in all of Mt Lebanon than E.T. Gillen, and the only people who take her blog seriously are a handful of people who clearly aren't the brighest crayons in the box.

Stick to harrassing and smearing school board members, E.T.Gillen.

Because Conor Lamb?

He's out of your league.

It actually makes sense you'd back Ray, the candidate completely unable to articulate a single position with a vision and specifics.

But governing in Congress, unlike maintaining a blog about deer and the school board, requires more than talking points and sound clips.

Exit Stage Left UPDATED 3/29/18

That's Conor Lamb at Saturday's March For Our Lives in Pittsburgh. He skedaddled when asked if he would support a ban on assault weapons.

Lamb, a former prosecutor and U.S. Marine Corps veteran, said on the campaign trail he wanted more effective background checks but not a ban on assault weapons. On Saturday, he wouldn’t discuss whether he would support such a ban as he alighted from the stage into a throng of people eager to greet him.

“I’m not here to talk to the media,” he said.

Is this a credible source, Democrats? UPDATED

In Southwestern PA House Special Election, Trump Looms Large For Campaign Volunteers

While Reidy is hopeful that Lamb could be that check, Hughes sometimes worries his supporters are being unrealistic, that their excitement about flipping the 18th could be distorting their view of the former federal prosecutor’s chances.

“We’re well-aware that we live in the bubble of the suburbs of Pittsburgh in our district,” Hughes reflected

I know people get a little cranky on here if I post something that you don't agree with. Or is this trash too?

Lamb's whopper of a lie

Just this morning, I wrote, "Just be mindful that Mt. Lebanon is just part of this district. Go outside the bubble and you see a different picture." The Washington Examiner printed this opinion piece yesterday. Conor Lamb's whopper of a lie on Catholicism and abortion

March 13 will be interesting.

Of all people, Conor Lamb...

Your new TV ad features Michalina Pendzich saying something about your ability to work with both sides and bring new blood to Congress. Michalina Pendzich, one of the most politically polarizing operatives in our community, is speaking on your behalf? She is a cold-hearted, uncompromising deer killer.

You might want to rethink your ad.

Conor Lamb won. He beat Mike Crossey, Pam Iovino, Gina Cerilli, and Bob Solomon. I wasn't aware that there were others running too. A gardener from Mt. Lebanon and a professor from Cecil also ran.
