Right on top of things UPDATED

I think Timmy had his evaluation by now. If not, here is something for the school board directors to think about. Why is Timmy's latest School Board Report dated April 18, 2017? Here is a list of his reports.

Will Timmy ever meet Governor Tom Wolf? Upper St. Clair's superintendent did.

Update August 10, 2017 11:10 AM I embedded Timmy's Twitter feed last night on Lebo Citizens. Notice how many of his Tweets were just retweets. Considering how behind he is on his School Board reports, I wonder what exactly he does with his time. From prior Lebo Citizens posts, he doesn't know names of special ed teachers (see Free at last), wasn't sure if we had five or seven elementary schools during the municipal hearing for the high school project, has no idea as to who changed the job posting nine months after Elaine Cappucci's son was hired, knew that Elaine Cappucci had to resign from the school board due to the conflict of interest with her son, had a complete understanding that the school board president is the executive director of Outreach and is quoted as saying, “The Mt. Lebanon School District has developed an extraordinary partnership with Outreach Teen & Family Services."

Voters will get more of the same if they vote for Elaine Cappucci, Mary Birks, Dan Remely, and Katie Caste.

Game Commission: Semi-automatic weapons next year for PA woodlands and Lebo

Pennsylvania will be the 49th state to permit semi-automatic weapons during deer hunting season next year. Governor Wolf signed the legislation last month.       http://triblive.com/local/westmoreland/11538937-74/automatic-semi-board

The board will decide which types of game can be hunted with a semi-automatic rifle, any limits on ammunition and when the rules will go into effect.
Commission spokesman Travis Lau said the board has its first quarterly meeting in January and could formally approve new rules as early as April. The board will meet Monday in a workshop-style session.
“We do expect them to begin the discussion on semi-automatic rifles for any hunting or all hunting,” Lau said.
This change could be helpful to older or disabled hunters.
State Rep. Eli Evankovich, R-Murrysville, said the change can be beneficial to hunters who are older, disabled or have difficulty manually reloading.
“I think we should be adult enough to allow people to do that,” he said.
Additionally, air- and gas-powered rifles are permitted for hunting as part of the amendment. Semi-automatic shotguns for hunting certain species are permitted in designated areas of five counties in the state, including a portion of Allegheny County.
Don't you all feel better that our governor signed this legislation?  People who have trouble with vision or mobility will benefit and be able to participate in killing deer in Mt. Lebanon next year. Thanks Mt. Lebanon Commissioners.

Oops, there goes our PlanCon reimbursement UPDATED

Listening to our school board directors and commissioners, "Corbett sucks" or Wolf was the greatest thing since sliced bread. This week, Gov. Tom Wolf announced his veto of the House and Senate’s $30.18 billion budget package, which did not include any new or increased taxes. This budget included more than $400 million in increases for education. The governor’s veto also included the Public School Code approved by the House and Senate.

Contained in the school code were additional reforms to the PlanCon (Planning and Construction Workbook) process, ensuring that districts are fully reimbursed for construction projects. Billions of dollars in reimbursements would have been returned to districts across the Commonwealth, including Mt. Lebanon School District. This is a major blow to our school district. Is Mary going to blame Corbett for this too? I would say that we are up Saw Mill Run without a paddle.

Update: July 2, 2015 8:22 PM From State Rep. Dan Miller's newsletter:
Budget NoteI know this is a light-hearted email, but I did want to acknowledge that our state budget was recently vetoed by Governor Tom Wolf. Unfortunately this did not come as a surprise. You should know that the vast majority of state services will not be impacted for at least the near future. It is my sincerest hope the work of putting together a bipartisan budget agreement will soon begin in earnest. I will have more to say on this in coming emails.

School districts wait for reimbursements for renovation projects

School districts wait for reimbursements for renovation projects
Gov. Tom Wolf's proposed 2016 budget would reinstate a moratorium his predecessor imposed on applications for reimbursement and leave the funding level at about $306.2 million for projects in the system. Lawmakers had allowed the moratorium to expire in September and increased the budget for payouts under the 11-step approval process for the “PlanCon” program.
We have reached PlanCon Part H in the high school renovation project. What does that mean for Mt. Lebanon? Presently, the State owes the District $2.4 million. That number will increase to $3.1 million if the State doesn't reimburse the District by the end of the fiscal year. Lebo Citizen readers, when is the end of the fiscal year? June?
