Are we getting balanced reporting?

After reading this morning’s edition of the Posti Gazette, I mean, the Post Gazette, I am now convinced that we have a reporter who is the mouthpiece of the School District.  Reading A newsmaker you should know: Mt. Lebanon's newest school director, I did not see any mention of his fifteen minutes of fame.  After all, it did get national attention.  I am thinking about canceling my subscription.

I sent the following e-mail to the author of the article:

Hello, I just finished reading your recent article, "A newsmaker you should know: Mt. Lebanon's newest school director" (http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/11020/1119181-55.stm#ixzz1BbiFqMn3). I believe you missed a pretty important item in Mr Lebowitz's dossier. He's been featured on the Lou Dobbs show!

I would figure that something as large as that would have made your article. I could even see it as being referred to as Mr Lebowitz being "embroiled in controversy" but alas, there must not have been enough room for that.

Maybe next time?

It looks like the Post Gazette reporter decided to be the story instead of see the story.

For the record, the newest school board director got the minimum of five votes required on the second ballot. Two rounds of voting were necessary.
