Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary

Contrary to what a certain school board member reports, state education funding has not been cut again. Governor Corbett signed the state budget last night.

From Pittsburgh Business Times:

Corbett noted the budget does not raise taxes on working families, and touted increased education and early childhood development funding, as well as funding for people with intellectual disabilities, domestic violence and rape victims, and the state's Children's Health Insurance Plan.
"This budget once again provides record levels of state funding for basic education while meeting our obligations to those in need, ensuring the safety of our citizens and supporting our job creators," Corbett said in a prepared statement.
The Trib reports:
An increase of $122.5 million for basic education is one of the budget's key features.

According to an April 2013 report, the State Basic Education Funding for Mt. Lebanon School District  increased by 3.4%.

I would like to point out that only one school board candidate sees the true picture of state funding.  Durwood Hill nailed it. Remember that when you vote in November.

I'd say... Is there a better manifestation of how our school board manipulates facts, misinforms their constituents and how gullible, lazy or just plain stupid their follows are.
One would think after hearing from a gentleman, an experienced CPA, that understands accounting tells you there are no state reductions in state public school funding you'd question a director that isn't a CPA on what basis does she make her claim!
No, that's to hard. They didn't want to listen to the advice of a structural engineering and architecture professor on the high school project, choosing instead to listen to a professional spinmeister with no construction credentials.
So why would they believe a CPA employed at one time by a fortune 500 firm over a PTA mom!

Keep drinking the kool-aid, Lebo. Just remember when the happy face pitcher is finally dry, you're going to get awfully thirsty.

Or you can still vote for Mr. Hill and find some candidates that can and will present ALL the facts to you.

Uh, just an FYI, you may want to count how many members of the current board were graduates of the district.

Do the count and then consider the silly things that come of their mouths!

Mary got caught; she wasn't the only Birks to get caught.Right Mary!

Mary's a pawn, front and mouthpiece for the teachers union and typical PTA alum. What do you expect ?

I checked the funding for the Basic Educational Subsidy to Pennsylvania school districts. Every district in the State received an increase for 2013-2014 fiscal year. Anyone who tells you differently should check their facts.

Mary always walks around screaming "the sky is falling, the sky is falling". Maybe she has been hit by to many acorns.

“This [2013 PA] budget establishes a record high of $10 billion total state dollars invested in K-12 education,” said state Rep. Warren Kampf, R-157th Dist

But Mary- representing her constituents interest believes the teacher union president's position that public education isn't getting enough!

Good ahead Lebo reelect her, she's watching out for your interest! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

According to Representative Kampf state K-12 is at a record high.
Posti post on her blog about the increase then continues to cry that Gov. Corbett (just Corbett mind you) didn't give her enough to spend.
Birks in her PSEA reports tows the union line that they need more and mire and more money.
Who's interest is she looking out for do you think? Opinions anyone?
