Tonight, the school board is pulling a fast one, probably the fastest one ever. The second bond issue is going down tonight.
Unfortunately, I cannot attend the meeting. My guess is that only the regulars, David Huston and Paula Bongiorno will be attending. What a shame.

Well one bright spot if you can calkl it that --- they're doing this before the November elections and not after.
At least we'll have the incumbents' votes on record as we go to the polls.
Big deal. Five candidates. Four seats. Both incumbents won the Primary. The good guy came in last.
This is as bad, if not worse than the commission. We find out that we have been overtaxed and money has been sitting around waiting to fund their pet projects. Directly from tonight's agenda: "excess funds not utilized for operations in the General Fund from 2011, 2012 and estimated from 2013'
It only takes five votes tonight. Five out of nine. It only takes three votes on the commission. Three out of five.
We are so screwed.

I will say that I can't tell if they are actually going to vote to float bonds or direct the bond advisor to investigate options.
Maybe both?
With only one of the people currently running getting kicked off, nothing will change. You think the "team" will change anything?
Here's my only thought. If you want a particular person to LOSE, then you will need to vote for ALL of the others. And that pains me. Clearly, one incumbent does not deserve to get re-elected. Eight years of always saying yes and then he runs for state office only to vote against his budget for the first time. It was so transparently self-serving it was incredible.
2:36 PM, I agree that the one incumbent shouldn't win, but the other incumbent is even worse. I cannot vote for four. I can't even vote for three or two.
What is most upsetting to me about tonight's agenda is the admission of excess funds from 2011, 2012, and even estimating that there will be excess funds from 2013.
It was rumored that Jan Klein was to retire this year. Do you think the board pleaded with her to stay until the dirty work was done with the high school project? She did move out of Mt. Lebanon right before raising our taxes 10.5% in 2010.

There's no law that says you have to vote for any of the candidates that ran in the primary!
Surely there are some fiscally conservative people in Mt. Lebanon.
