Next year is an important year for electing school board directors. There are five seats (the majority) opening up in the next MLSD school board election. The only Republican (Al Frioni) on the school board was appointed, not elected. The Republicans, however, did vote for Elaine Cappucci, a Democrat whose ticket included two Republicans.
Mt. Lebanon Democrats have five, solid candidates lined up for next year's Primary. Already. Mt. Lebanon Republicans, how many do you have lined up? Do you have any? You might want to start thinking about that. No rush.

According to a recent article:
“A Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania aluminum mill is crediting their rising profits to President Trump’s protective tariffs on imported foreign aluminum.
Alcoa saw a 14 percent increase in revenue in the third quarter thanks to Trump’s tariffs on imported aluminum.
Executives said the company’s aluminum smelters in the U.S. saw a benefit of $27 million thanks to the tariffs on imported aluminum. The price of sold raw aluminum also saw an increase of ten percent a ton due to the tariffs.”
With a critical race between Lamb and Rothfus it’s astounding that the local and county R parties aren’t shouting this news from the rooftops!
Lamb will most likely fall in with Pelosi, Rothfus most likely vote with Trump.

“Workers at two of the biggest U.S. steelmakers are demanding higher compensation as tariffs on foreign metal push prices and profits to their highest point in years in a buoyant economy.
Leaders for some 30,000 members of the United Steelworkers union say United States Stee l Corp. and ArcelorMittal SA aren’t passing those benefits to their workers, who have gone without raises in recent years even as wages have started to climb more broadly.”
C’mon local Republicans are you going to get involved or sleep through another election?
I was told the Democratic Party of Mt Lebanon has $15k in the bank and is prepared to spend much of it to support these school board candidates. Anybody know if it really has that much money and will spend it on this race?
If it exist perhaps they could show taxpayers they really care about educating kids and donate that $15,000 to reduce the $700,000 outstanding loan balance owed from the cancelled Century of Excellence fundraiser.
That loan was made using taxpayers’ money that was already in the district’s coffers.
