It isn't just between the Democrats and the Republicans anymore. A third candidate has entered the race for the House seat in the 42nd District. The third largest political party in the United States is running Libertarian and Mt. Lebanon resident, George Brown for State Representative.

Mr. Brown wants to bring some common sense and down to earth ideas to Harrisburg. Based on my unofficial poll for this race, one third of the voters are dissatisfied with the Republican and Democratic choices. Unfortunately, I cannot change the poll by adding George Brown's name, but I can extend the deadline. Are those 30%, who are voting for neither of the Dan's, fed up with the Republican and Democratic parties? Time will tell on May 21, 2013.

I'm thoroughly disgusted with one candidate as I don't believe he's fulfilled even one of the things he promised.
The other in my opinion is an outstanding character and worked hard while in office but have heard little as to why he wants to go to Harrisburg.
Mr. Brown though could very easily get my vote though. Call me hungry for more information.
I am delighted by this development! The Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania recently scored a significant victory when it drew a 2% vote total in the November, 2012 elections making it an official minority PARTY instead of a political body - in Pennsylvania's eyes. The LP still has a long way to go in this state, but things are certainly moving in the right direction.
Mr. Brown's candidacy is bad news for Dan Remely. Libertarians, who are fiscal conservatives and social liberals, generally take more votes from Republicans than Democrats - although in the last presidential race LP presidential candidate Gary Johnson took plenty of votes from both major parties.
Looks like we'll find out how many R's aren't happy with "RINO Remely".
Count me as one of them. But this "R" is voting for Miller.
Dan's height of hypocrisy is when he claims he is "fiscally responsible".
I suppose is his "fiscally responsible" if you characterize it as being fiscally responsible for humongous tax increases while on the school board.
