It's Greek Food Festival time again in Pittsburgh!

Date Night - Holy Cross Greek Food Festival

It's Greek Food Festival time again in Pittsburgh!

It's been a hectic week with the end of the school year and my upcoming teacher exchange trip to Upper St. Clair's sister school in Leverkusen, Germany, but Jeremy and I found a sliver of time last night to visit the Greek Food Festival at Holy Cross Church, and we're so glad that we did.
The festival runs through Saturday, June 18 and offers eat-in and take-out options, as well as an outdoor a-la-carte food area and a buffet-style dining area indoors.
The buffet features traditional favorites like stuffed grape leaves, souvlaki, pastitsio, Greek salad, and rice pudding, while the outdoor area has gyro and souvlaki stations as well as a pastery and dessert table.
The church is open for visitors and a number of books about the Greek Orthodox religion and Greek history are on sale in the lobby.
Greek jewelry and trinkets are on sale near the buffet dining room.
Sit downstairs to enjoy live Greek music and dancing—stay late and join in!
Don't skip out on the baklava sundae—vanilla ice cream with baklava crumbles, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a cherry. If the weather stays nice, take it outside and watch the sun set over the beautiful exterior of the church.
