Write to Senator Pippy and Rep. Smith

Here is my letter to Senator Pippy and Representative Smith regarding SB 911 and HB 1326:

It has recently come to my attention that you have been receiving correspondence from members of the Mt. Lebanon School Board in which they were trying to "educate" your office on the history of Act 1.  Here is the history you should know. Act 1 was put in place to protect taxpayers like me from school boards like Mt. Lebanon's.

With all of the exemptions built into the Act, Act 1 was never given the power needed to enforce the will of the taxpayers.  I'd urge you to stay the course with [Senate Bill 911/House Bill 1326] and ensure passage of the bill.  Taxpayers like us in Mt. Lebanon see it as the only way to control school boards who consistently ignore the will of the people when it comes to spending our hard earned money.

To email Representative Smith, go to http://www.pahouse.com/msmith/contact.asp

Update 10:43 PM June 6, 2011  "HB 1326, which would remove all Act 1 exceptions, is the second item on the agenda [June 6, 2011] when the PA House reconvenes at 1:00 pm today."
I didn't see anything here. http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/LI/HS/2011/0/20110606.htm They are reconvening tomorrow at 11:00. Thank you to all who called and emailed Senator Pippy's and Representative Smith's offices.

I sent a message to both of them.
Take a minute to think about what happened on this day 67 years ago.
