Since a reader was curious about the organizations that donated $20,000 towards the Pursuant Ketchum Feasibility Study, I have some information about one of the organizations, the Mt. Lebanon Foundation For Education. (MLFE)
MLFE's website, which is linked on the School District website, is located here. Their Form 990 is here. MLFE's mission is to raise money on behalf of the Mt. Lebanon School District for innovative educational programs for all students. I am not sure donating $10,000 to a feasibility study or showing $10,000 in salaries would be considered innovative educational programs, but for those who do, here is how you can be an Education Booster. And take a very close look at the members of the Board...it's essentially direct representation of the MTLSD Admin & SB...like what is referred to as a Component Unit ! There is no arms length relationship here...some would call it a *sham* in terms of its funding of the PK study.

The whole high school project/fields issue is a conspiratorial sham perpetrated by liberals who use government tactics to get what they want---athletic scholarships for their kids.
For those who need further confirmation, check out the latest issue of Mt. Lebanon Magazine, which features lacrosse on the front cover and a story and more photos on the subject inside. This is no coincidence, folks.
Remember when this same magazine published features about truly interesting residents instead of perpetrating the school board/district agenda?
Instead of a well-run school system, ML is now just another district run by special interest groups.
We deserve better.

While MTL magazine is well produce it's agenda has morphed into a self-serving, agenda driven soapbox for it's editor. Never will you find articles that really delve into the real issues whether it's athletics, the school district, municipality or the environment.
The editor proclaims that it is self-supporting and making money. If that's true, then sell it off to raise much needed revenue for mandatory expenditures.
If it is the profitable venture claimed, this would be the prime opportunity for us to divest.

On the surface, you make an excellent suggestion; however, the only known alternative for a Lebo magazine, just chomping at the bit, is the quarterly publication "IN Mt. Lebanon" which is even worse ! Maybe no magazine is the way to go, and that's what you're actually proposing.

I can do without either magazine.
Mt. Lebanon Magazine is all about fluff and relating how wonderful things are here; I've seen some interesting features in IN Mt. Lebanon, but the majority of its stuff is old news.
I wouldn't miss either one, especially if the newspapers would step up and report BOTH sides of the story.

Did anyone see these two similar Lebo Alerts about the Junior Commissioner application? It looks like at first only Mt Lebanon high school students may apply on April 25th and on April 27th Any high school student may apply. Does anyone have know what’s going on? The first Lebo Alert says MLHS STUDENTS MAY APPLY and the second Lebo Alert says ANY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT THAT LIVES IN MT LEBANON MAY APPLY.

I would assume that the attempt to restrict Jr. Commissioners was too limit the competipn for some "special" real Lebo person.
