So pathetic

Remember how the MLRC (Tommy Dunn) gave Jim Cannon and me a hard time in 2011 about posting our signs on the "Republican" board at Foster School? And how Tommy gave me a hard time about putting up one of my recycled signs when I ran in protest for the last election for the Ward 3 Commission seat?

This is the Republican board at Foster School today, May 16, 2017. So pathetic.

Here is what you will see on Tuesday's ballot for school board

There are four open positions for a four year term and one open position for a two year term. Whether you are a Democrat or a Republican, you will see Mike Riemer, Stephen Strotmeyer, Aviva Diamond, and the Timmy ticket on the ballot. They all cross filed. Justin DePlato is only on the Republican ballot. Democrats will have to write in his name, if they wish to vote for him.

For the two year term, pick only one of those candidates. You will, most likely, be voting for one candidate twice for the Primary.

I hear the weather is going to be nice on Tuesday. Get out there and vote. Choose wisely. Please.

Meet the Candidates

On Tuesday, May 19, 2015, registered Republicans and Democrats will have the opportunity to choose up to five School Board Directors. Additionally, those voters in Wards 1, 3, and 5 will be voting for their candidates to serve as Mt. Lebanon commissioners. Four years ago, Mt. Lebanon voters had more options, with several candidates running for the same seat. The League of Women Voters held a Candidates Forum, prior to the May Primary in 2011, which gave voters an opportunity  to learn more about those running for office. For this Primary, registered R's and D's must rely on social media.

The race for School Board Directors includes six candidates for five seats. Those running for School Board have the opportunity to cross file.

Running on both tickets are:

Incumbent Elaine Cappucci
Incumbent Larry Lebowitz
Incumbent Bill Cooper
Hugh Beal
Sarah Olbrich

Running on the Republican ticket only:

For the Commission:

In Ward 1,

Incumbent John Bendel (D)

Dan McNichol (R)

In Ward 3,

Andy Reinhart (D)

Steve McLean (R)
No website for Steve McLean

In Ward 5,

Kelly Fraasch (D)

William Hoon (R)
No website for William Hoon

If voters are dissatisfied with the actions of our School Board, this Primary gives registered R's and D's a chance to vote out one incumbent. The General Election in November will give all registered voters an opportunity for change in leadership (the majority) within our Municipality.

Independents can vote too!

I had a panic attack this morning. I was worried that I would only be able to see Dan Remely's name on my Republican ballot for the House seat.  No worries! There will be no D or R ballot for that race. Since it is a special election, there is only one ballot. Good news - not only can Democrats and Republicans vote for either Dan Miller or Dan Remely, but Independents can actually come to the polls and vote for the State House race. Typically they are not allowed to vote in primaries.

Keep that in mind and take a minute to cast your vote in the latest, unofficial poll here on  Lebo Citizens.

Additionally, someone sent me Dan Remely's campaign brochure.  I will wait until I hear from Mr. Remely before I post it. Dan, you know how to reach me.
