Toxic turf project to resume by May 26 UPDATED
The PIO puts a different spin on it:
In other news, Canon-McMillan is redoing their turf field at a cost of over $1 million. Temporary fix to Big Mac Stadium turf considered a failure
A couple of updates:
CPSC no longer stands by safety of artificial turf
There are two new field signs at Dixon Field. The Saloon and Oxford Landscaping have wrinkled plastic signs on the outfield fence next to the Concordia sign. They're more of vinyl banners than signs.
Update May 9, 2015 7:10 AM Through a Right To Know, invoices for work performed at Wildcat Field.
Update May 9, 2015 10:04 AM A Lebo Citizens reader saw this article on Huffington Post this morning. Toxic Turf? Movement Grows Against Synthetic Turf
This is an important notice from LeboALERT.
Wildcat/Middle fields improvement project to resume by May 26, if weather cooperates. Read report at: http://mtlebanon.org/index.aspx?NID=2199The May 7, 2015 Project Status Report is available here.
Baseball has requested substantial completion by July 4, 2015. A start date of May 26, 2015 will allow this date to be met according to the contractor “if all goes well”, meaning weatherFake Lebo is wondering, "Is it me or did the municipality hire the construction company from Hotel Tyvek to work on Wildcat and Middle fields?"

Wildcat project drained us dry
During yesterday's Commission Discussion Session, Andrew McCreery, Director of Finance, reviewed 2014 Preliminary Year-end Financials.
Andrew explained that the Unassigned Funds are to be used for emergencies. Typically, the reserves should equal two months of our budget. Our unassigned fund balance is only at 11%. Remember how "Anyone But Bendel" went to the October 3, 2013 Sports Advisory Board meeting and asked how the SAB would like to spend the pot of gold? The October 3, 2013 SAB meeting minutes indicate:
I bet Vasco Sports can't be too happy with the snow on the ground. Benner hoped for snow, while Vasco hopes for warmer weather. I just love Mother Nature.

The board recommended that the Commission designate the maximum amount of undesignated funds, plus any available funds that were previously allocated to Brafferton, to a turf project at Middle and Wildcat, with the balance of the project costs coming from other sources.Isn't "Anyone But Bendel" in the banking business?

For those who enjoy reviewing contracts
A full set of specifications for the Wildcat Turf Project was obtained through a Right To Know. The requester has graciously offered to share it with Lebo Citizens readers here. Vasco Full Set of Specifications
Anyone who has knowledge of contracts, construction, bids, etc., please review the documentation. Dave Brumfield told the requester that he never looked at it. Boy, does that have a familiar ring. Think Ewing and Kubit. Allegedly, Kristen Linfante and John Bendel reviewed it with Gateway. Kelly Fraasch was not privy to it. Nothing from Steve Silverman.
What better way to spend Thanksgiving weekend than by reading 555 pages of a Right To Know?
Happy Thanksgiving!
