Brookline great and NFL legend, Johnny Unitas had a rough start playing football. When the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him in the ninth round, he was released before the season began. Unitas was married with a child and tried to support his family by working in construction here in Pittsburgh. On weekends, he played for the Bloomfield Rams for $6.00 a game.
