Final Potential Cost Savings Worksheet is here

My Right To Know of September 10, 2012 was granted this morning. I asked for the final version of the “Potential Cost Savings Worksheet.” To my surprise, it includes associated costs in the final version. Thank you, Mrs. Szalinski, for granting my request so quickly.

Final Cost Savings Worksheet

Notice Line Item 23. We saved $90,000 because OWPP said that according to CEC correspondence to MTLSD, pyrite remediation is not needed.

It'll be interesting to see what the actual costs of pyrite mediate will be when compared to this.

So, who will be paying for the pyrite mediation? The residents should not have to bear this expense.

Sure they will. Residents (in the form of the Board) made the decision to take pyrite remediation out of the budget to reduce the bid costs.

So yes, residents will be on the hook for the costs.

Another lesson in it mattering for whom you vote.

"Notice line 23.....". Do you think that the CEC may have possibly made that statement because their plan recommendation was to retain Building C, not build either G or the athletic buildings H, J and K. or revise/re-route Horsman Drive in the South Lot & Building F area ?

And, if that were the case, there would be no major excavations or new construction and the need for pyrite removal.

Just wondering if that might be the case ? Heaven forbid if it is !
