Mt. Lebanon citizens group planning demonstration today against upcoming deer cull
Someone was wearing a black shirt with NOT IN MY YARD printed on it. Does anyone have a photo of this person? Or the name of the person?
One of the people attending the rally saw a bullet casing on the sidewalk at the corner of Cochran and Washington! It was going to be turned over to the Mt. Lebanon police.
Also, a group of high school students came up from the walkway knew NOTHING about any sharpshooting.
Why aren't the principals stepping forward?

Elaine, I don't know how you keep up with this, but thank you.
It seems to me that the number of public and private sites has been reduced substantially, right? I thought there were countless private properties that were offered and deemed "safe" for sharpshooting.
This is from Hayes' article today:
On Tuesday, Mt. Lebanon police reviewed safety measures at proposed sharpshooting sites on four private properties and two public areas.
the shirt was made by Sunburst Sportswear of 445 Castle Shannon Blvd

I wonder why Susan Morgans did not mention McNeilly Park. Could it be that killing deer in that narrow strip of land that is outside of the 1000' gun free school zone by Seton-LaSalle would have a negligible impact on reducing deer-car collisions?

I'm the one who "interviewed" the group of five teenaged boys who were coming up from the High School. I asked if they knew what was going on with deer killing and was told that everything had been explained to them AT SCHOOL. When I asked what they had been told, I was informed: that we are still in archery season; that THERE WILL BE NO GUNS; and, when I informed them that there WILL BE HIGH-POWERED RIFLES WITH SUPPRESSION IN PRIVATE YARDS FROM 4:00 UNTIL 11:00 P.M. and in PARKS FROM 6:00 UNTIL 11:00 P.M., the answer I was given by the surprised kid was, "I'm sure it is going to be safe...they wouldn't do anything that isn't safe." TEENAGERS ARE IMMORTAL!
Since the Commissioners are withholding the details from the public and the school superintendent is making it clear that we have nothing to fear but fear itself, I'm thinking that we should be picketing the schools and giving simple handouts containing the details to parents of the younger children and to the older kids who will take them. What do the rest of you think?
I'm more afraid of a Mt Lebanon teacher with a gun! We've had some real weirdo's working up there!
