Baby, Just GO Outside UPDATED

Being totally out of touch and filled with hate, I bring you this updated version of a Christmas classic.

Update December 10, 2018 5:21 PM To show how I got with the program, here is a list of more politically incorrect Christmas songs that need to be banned.

1. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus: subjecting minors to softcore porn

2. The Christmas Song: Open fire? Pollution. Folks dressed up like Eskimos? Cultural appropriation

3. Holly Jolly Christmas: Kiss her once for me? Unwanted advances

4. White Christmas: Racist

5. Santa Claus is Coming to Town: Sees you when you’re sleeping? Knows when you’re awake? Peeping Tom stalker

6. Most Wonderful Time of the Year: Everyone telling you be of good cheer? Forced to hide depression

7. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: Bullying

8. It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas: Forced gender-specific gifts: dolls for Janice and Jen and boots and pistols (GUNS!) for Barney and Ben

9. Santa Baby: Gold digger, blackmail

10. Frosty the Snowman: Sexist; not a snow woman

11. Do You Hear What I Hear: blatant disregard for the hearing impaired

12. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas: Make the yuletide GAY? Wow, just wow

13. Jingle Bell Rock: Giddy up jingle horse, pick up your feet: animal abuse

14. Mistletoe and Holly: Overeating, folks stealing a kiss or two? How did this song ever see the light of day?

15. Winter Wonderland: Parson Brown demanding they get married…forced partnership

Oh my!!! Look at all the hate we have been singing about all these years!!!

One very determined troll

As of November 8, 2018, I changed the settings on Lebo Citizens to No More Comments. On Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 6:22 PM, I missed a call dialed from the Mt. Lebanon Library. I was out and didn't hear my cell ring. When I came home, there was a call on my caller ID, also from Mt. Lebanon Public Library, at 6:23 PM.

No messages were left on either phone. I didn't think anything of it, until I opened my email this morning.

Your post on Dec 4 perfectly illustrates how out of touch and filled with
hate you are.

This is one, very determined troll. Obviously, I offended a Mt. Lebanon Public Library employee. Wow!

Gee, who could that be? Perhaps the Community Engagement Coordinator of Mt. Lebanon Public Library and potty-mouthed school board commenter, Beth "Shit Show" Evans.

I know that I shouldn't feed the trolls, but this is hilarious

The following was submitted as a comment on my post, Candidates Forum TODAY. It was a continuation of an earlier submission.

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Candidates Forum TODAY":

I find it humorous that progressives like to say Lamb won because he "ran on progressive economic issues" and Republicans like to say that Lamb won because he ran as a Republican.

Proves that there is a center, and it's worth fighting for.

I also find it humorous that E.T. Gillen is so fond of deer, but has no problem voting for the Republican agenda, which isn't environmentally friendly at all.

I find "real Democrat" progessives, who haven't actually won a single important election, to be full of hot air.

E.T. Gillen voted for Trump.

She does not get to pretend to have any sort of moral high ground about anything.

There is no greater hypocrite in all of Mt Lebanon than E.T. Gillen, and the only people who take her blog seriously are a handful of people who clearly aren't the brighest crayons in the box.

Stick to harrassing and smearing school board members, E.T.Gillen.

Because Conor Lamb?

He's out of your league.

It actually makes sense you'd back Ray, the candidate completely unable to articulate a single position with a vision and specifics.

But governing in Congress, unlike maintaining a blog about deer and the school board, requires more than talking points and sound clips.

Act One. Ask Not For Whom The Bell Trolls; It Trolls for Thee.

Someone sent me a link to this podcast.

Writer Lindy West has been harassed by hundreds of trolls online. But only one ever apologized for his remarks. Lindy began to wonder, could he explain why trolls choose to be so cruel? (21 minutes)

545: If You Don’t Have Anything Nice to Say, SAY IT IN ALL CAPS (01.23.2015)
It’s safe to say whatever you want on the Internet; nobody will know it’s you. But that same anonymity makes it possible for people to say all the awful things that make the Internet such an annoying and sometimes frightening place. This week: what happens when the Internet turns on you? (If you prefer, here's a bleeped version.)
Here is the transcript. https://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/545/transcript

Ira Glass' prologue sounds like something that I would read here, the Trib, or the PG.

This something that I found like that everybody can agree on is a graphic. It's a graphic that somebody showed me on the internet. It's an optical illusion created by a professor at MIT who studies vision and the brain.
And basically, there are two gray boxes. One of them is surrounded by lighter stuff so it looks darker, and the other gray box is surrounded by darker stuff so it looks lighter. But in fact, the whole point of it is it's an optical illusion. The two gray squares are exactly the same shade of gray.
Now, that's just a fact. But of course, since this graphic is on the internet, there's a comment section. And you might think, what would you possibly comment on? Right?
It doesn't seem like there's anything, really, here to discuss. Gray is gray. And I'll refrain from a Fifty Shades of Gray joke here and just say, when you scroll down through the comments, people do find a way to disagree, even about this.
And I don't know, maybe you've been on the internet-- they like to curse about it. One person writes, "what a load of shit. They are different colors." Another writes, "not the same [BEEP] shade." Says a third, "not convinced."
Then people start in with advice. And at first, they're like, super nice about it, right? They're trying to be helpful. They tell the doubters to take their fingers and cover over everything but the two gray squares on their screen and they'll see they are the same color.
Several people suggested they can open up the file on Photoshop or MS Paint and use the Dropper tool to see the exact RGB values of the colors and they'll see that they're the same. By the way, 120, 120, 120 with 160 hue, 113 loom.
After all of that, somebody still writes, "The second square looks brighter to me." Somebody else replies, "It's definitely brighter than you." People start calling each other stupid, which of course leads to the kind of big, overbroad, sweeping statement you see in comment sections everywhere. Quote, "If after reading this thread, you refuse to actually test it and choose to stick with your dogmatic belief, then you are everything that is wrong with America."

Tired of the trolls

I have been running my Lebo Citizens website for more than five years. David Huston has been kind enough to attend and record all the school board meetings for me. Such dedication, David. Thank you! This blog,  Lebocitizens.blogspot.com,  is 4+ years old and has been a public blog for all those years. I have allowed comments from everyone, including some very "not nice" people. There is a name for this group of "not nice" people, Internet trolls.

Through the years, trolling has increased here on Lebo Citizens. This group has forgotten that my blog is...well...my blog. It consists of documentation from Right To Knows, minutes of meetings, agendas, lists of cost overruns from various construction projects, photographs, and my views of what is happening in my hometown of Mt. Lebanon. The hours are long and the pay stinks. I am not complaining about it, but what I do object to are the hurtful comments and threats that are being submitted. If these people are so unhappy with this blog, why do they read it?

Fortunately, Blogger has an option that I can select which takes my blog from "Public" to "By Invitation Only." I have tested this option in the last 24 hours and have decided to make this switch permanently in the next few days. The folks who have asked to be invited will remain on the list and will continue to have access to the blog, once the change becomes permanent. If you want to be invited, please email me with your real name and email address. In the subject line, add "Please invite me." I realize that this will cut my readership drastically, but it is the risk I have to take. Do I really want the nasties here? My website, Lebocitizens.com will remain available to everyone.

Thank you to all the wonderful people who I have met over the years, both virtually and in person. I regret that I have to take this action, but enough is enough.
