mtl Magazine mystery solved!

Susan Morgans stopped me at the commission meeting this evening to say that the problem has been resolved concerning the missing mtl Magazines. It turns out that 700 residents, including yours truly, were not receiving mtl Magazine.  The problem was with the homes that shared the same mail route as Castle Shannon residents. The next issue should be coming out the first week in April. If you do not receive the next issue, contact the Public Information Office.
Thanks, Susan for getting to the bottom of this.

Please remember to read the Commissioner's column. Please give me some feed back and your "sincere" recommendations.

Elaine,

You are referring to the 15234 ZIP code and 700 Lebo residents alone in just that portion of 15234 served by a mail route primarily for Castle Shannon residents with a 15234 ZIP as well.

How about the other three (3) ZIP codes Lebo shares with contiguous communities...15243, 15216 & 15226...are Lebo residents in portions of those ZIP code areas also not receiving "mtl" magazine ?

It has always facinated me that Lebo, a community of only 33,000 residents within only 6.1 sq. miles, has five (5) different ZIP codes. The 15228 is the only *pure*, totally Lebo ZIP code , and 15226 in the McNeilly area serves only some 300 residents, is largely unknown as a Lebo ZIP and is shared with Dormont or Baldwin, I think.

There are communities and combinations of communities in the U.S. many times larger then Lebo in population and square miles that have only one (1) ZIP code.

Bill---unbelievably, neighboring Scott (3.75 sq. mi) beats us out by having seven (yes, count 'em) zipcodes.
They are: 15243 (Cedarhurst); 15220 (Green Tree); 15106 (Carnegie); 15017 (Bridgeville); 15216 (Dormont) 15241 (Upper St. Clair) and 15205 (Crafton).
Officials tried a number of times to get a Scott post office, but were never successful.
