Ouch! Read what the Trib has to say about Krista Harris.
Voters in Allegheny County Council's 5th District have an opportunity on Tuesday to use their franchise to right a political wrong.
When marginal Republican Vince Gastgeb of Bethel Park, a 13-year veteran, left the council in February to do Democrat Chief Executive Rich Fitzgerald's bidding for the county Airport Authority, the GOP had the opportunity to name a replacement. It chose Krista Harris of Mt. Lebanon. Actually, she was a “chit choice” — a spoils appointment for the work of a political operative relative.
Voters in the district composed of Bethel Park, Bridgeville, Mt. Lebanon and Upper St. Clair deserve better than such rank political spoilage. That's why they should vote for Sue Means, 61, of Bethel Park.
Mrs. Means is no stranger to conservative political circles. Trained as a nurse, she's long been engaged in politics — she's run, twice unsuccessfully, for the Pennsylvania General Assembly — and in community service in the South Hills. She's a good, engaged and decent person. And if you don't know her personally, you'll recognize the name of her family's business, Brookside Lumber.
Because there's no Democrat in the primary, the winner of the GOP primary on Tuesday will serve out the remaining two years of Mr. Gastgeb's term. Fifth District voters would serve their best interests (and that of the political process) by rejecting representation by proxy and voting for representation by Sue Means.

Yep, it's time to cleanse the Republican snobbery of Heather Heidelbaugh as well as Krista Harris. Heather was the ring leader nosing out other qualified candidates in favor of krista Harris. It's rotten politics at the core, time to just say no to this destructive politicizing on all fronts.
It's time for a change.

Ugh, Sue Means is downright scary! Campaigned for Rick Santorum. Shows a lack of intelligence on her part.
11:25 Entertaining comment, but clearly off base. More scary is someone completely unfamiliar with the district acting on our behalf and using the office to satisfy a personal political ambition.
Santorum has changed his position on many things over the years. Certainly Obama supporters of 2008 may not support him now given the current state of affairs.

All well and good, but how does she plan to do this? Specifically what does she want to cut, how is she going to create jobs? All rhetoric. On the other hand, Ms. Harris has no website that I could find.

I did a lot of South Hills driving today and actually saw one Harris sign - just one.
6:23 Why don't you contact her and ask? She is approachable and would most likely be willing to have a healthy exchange of information.
If you attempt to do that and don't get satisfaction, then you do have a legitimate gripe. As for Harris, good luck.
104: i think the point is, as a candidate,Harris should be offering specifics. She wants people to vote for her based on what amounts to regurgitating three oft-repeated basic prinicples of the GOP. She claims she's a conservative. I tell her prove it.
The reality is she is using a method of campaigning the dems have used for years. She was also handpicked by the RINOs serving on county council so that should tell you something. They want the status quo. And lets be real. Nobody on council would take her seriously anyway.
OK, back home from graduation. YAY!
In my opinion, Krista Harris was selected to fill Gatsgeb's seat because Harris has a lot of money backing her. For a brief moment, I considered interviewing for that seat. Hey, I am a watchdog, right? Anyway, I knew I couldn't raise the money. I know of several well-deserving candidates who went through the interview process. Let me tell you, even that process was politically driven!! Sorry, but Krista Harris is no more a watch dog than my long departed dog, Ubu.
Sue Means has experience. Krista Harris has the endorsement from the Republican Committee of Mt. Lebanon. And we know their track record!!!! They have endorsed candidates who didn't pay their taxes, had criminal backgrounds, or for sale signs in their yard.
I am voting for Sue Means.
