The turf reminds me of MTL magazine ... supposed to be a community draw on the outside, toxic just underneath and all the way to the core.

Great analogy, Jason. That really was a good one.

On the subject of Field Turf, does anyone know how much money has been socked away for the day our artificially turfed fields are due for replacement. That's in the neighborhood of $800,000 to $1,000,000 approximately every 10 years.

It's not like that replacement will be an unexpected expense so we should be saving for it rather than having to borrow money. It doubtful the sports fields sign revenue will be enough to cover it.

Sad how this turf was supposed to be Lebo's Crown Jewel- an amenity so attractive that young families would be falling over one another to overpay for homes just to get their kids the sports surface they need in order to become superstars. Unfortunately, real estate forecasts for MTL are weak. But I bet if we build another turf field, they will come!
